Working with mature lips is always about strategy — not just choosing a pretty colour.

As we age, lips naturally lose some of their definition and colour, the border becomes softer, and the skin gets drier and thinner. That’s why mature lips can’t be treated the same way as younger lips.

In this case, there were two key things that really mattered.

First — we never go outside the natural lip border.
On mature lips, trying to “create extra volume” with tattooing often looks uneven or unnatural once healed. My goal is to enhance the shape, not create an artificial effect.

Second — the shade is usually chosen warmer than what the client initially thinks they want.
Why? Because once healed, pigment always softens and cools down slightly. If we start with a cool n**e straight away, the final result can end up looking too pale or even greyish.

That’s why choosing the right colour isn’t simply about “I want this shade”.
It’s about understanding how that pigment will heal and settle specifically on your lips.

The client had been using the same lip pencil for years, so it was important not just to create a beautiful result,
but to accurately recreate the shade she truly felt comfortable and confident wearing every day.

Before the procedure, we carefully selected the mix of pigments,
taking into account her skin undertone, natural lip colour, and the level of saturation she wanted.

The goal wasn’t to make the lips look overly bright or artificial,
but to achieve a soft, familiar shade that feels natural in everyday life.

Now it’s not makeup that needs to be reapplied daily,
but a stable, natural-looking shade that suits her at any time of day ✨
