Okay can we talk about trial reels for a sec because I think this advice is actually hurting people 😅
You cannotttt just repost the same thing over and over as a trial reel. I still see people recommending this as a strategy but now that Instagram can recognise duplicate content it is NOT a good idea 😂
Repurposing content is still 100% fine (and recommended), I do it all the time, but it needs a proper edit - different cut, different pacing, different text on screen, different audio - not just a new font on the same clip lol
What I actually do: take something that’s already done well and rebuild it. It’s such a good way to test a new hook or format on people who’ve never seen you before, and a good chunk of my new followers have come thruuu this way.
If you’ve got questions drop them below, and if you want to actually sit down and sort your content strategy out fullyyy my 1:1 calls are linked in bio 📞
Save this one for later 📌 and send it to someone who needs a little encouragement re: posting 😂
Last September I had about 1,700 followers, on an account that was almost 9 years old. By April this year, 3K. Now at the time of recording - around 5.6K. By no means huge 😂 but huge for me!! No super crazy viral moment, just steady, consistent growth.
And here’s what actually got me there: consistency + finding your format - these two are inextricably linked, you simply cannot have one without the other (without complete burnout)!
I tried a bunch of formats along the way. Some were truly torturous (looking at you, DITL 😅), and others felt more FUN and easy (for me - silly little meme reels and transformation videos). So that’s what I stuck with!
Nobody tells you this when they say “just start posting” - if you pick a format you hate, you’re not building a following, you’re building yourself a second job. And not even a paid one yet.
So I implorrrre you, have a think about what you could actually see yourself doing every week without wanting to give up entirely. That’s the real answer 😂

How I apply my liquid contour and blush IN DETAIL - if liquid bronzers or blushes feel intimidating to you save this for later ✔️
Each slide has more detail in the caption about exactly where I place it and how 🥰 and the last slide has the full list of all the products I used.
If you have any questions feel free to pop them below and if you’d prefer the list sent to your DMs just comment “liquid”.
These Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez liquid products are the GOAT for longevity. They do, not, budge. If I want to know for certain that my makeup will look EXACTLY the same 12 hours later, this is what I’m reaching for. You haveeee to trust the process though 😅
See? 😂 I stipple at first with my brush and then I buff lightly to get that perfect blend.
I have been using these liquid blushes since they were released I’m still OBSESSED. A little goes a long way and I’m using the same application technique as the contour.
“I like to stipple and then buff”. This is exactly how I do this, I’m using a really light touch when I buff even though it looks aggressive 😅
“I like to keep this deeper shade towards the outer and I might put a pop of colour here”. I focus on placing the initial blush on my outer cheekbones and then I buff towards my eye and a little on the apples of my cheeks.
I use what’s left on my brush to buff a little across my eyes, this ties everything in nicely and means there are no harsh lines anywhere 🙅🏼♀️
This is a much brighter shade that I think works well for a pop of colour on the apples of the cheeks.
Check the placement here - I’m using the same stippling motion but I’m really focusing on this area.
If I put product on both cheeks at the same time I switch between them rather than blending one side at a time - it lasts y’all!
And that’s it! This will stay allllll day and is why it’s an absolute staple in my personal and professional kit and my favourite blush for brides!! Save this for later 🥰
