Then the idea hit me — take the most innocent, striking beauty and create contrast. Expose the imperfections. Celebrate the texture.

First time conceptualising the idea, creating the hair, styling the clothes, shooting and editing it all myself.

When a balayage, I balayage hard. My favourite thing about this technique is that I am a control freak and I can control each individual section, placement, height, deposit, tone, contour, contrast and colour. I look like the angriest hairdresser alive when I colour because I am creating my end result in my mind and bringing it together piece by piece. Carefully sculpting each clients balayage to them and the cut, in this case the perfect combination of balayage and a s**g haircut. This is what hair dreams are made of.
