In less than two weeks, we’ll close the doors to the MYLA space that has been home for the past three years and lately, I’ve found myself reflecting on the woman who signed that lease. At the time, I thought success looked like building a team around me. Instead, the limitations of the tiny little space forced me to build something even more valuable: MYLA itself.

Within those walls came thousands of appointments, hundreds of five-star reviews, lifelong client relationships, tears, laughter, lessons, and more personal and professional growth than I ever imagined, but my vision never stopped evolving.

Over the last 12–18 months, I’ve poured absolutely everything I could into expanding my cosmetic tattoo knowledge. And the truth is, you can’t create beautiful, long-lasting cosmetic tattooing on unhealthy skin. That realisation pushed me deeper into understanding skin itself: its function, its barriers, its behaviours, and how to truly support it rather than simply correct it.

The more I learnt, the more convinced I became that healthy skin isn’t about chasing the next quick fix. It’s about understanding. Consistency. Education. Ritual. Supporting the barrier, respecting the skin, and caring for the human attached to it. The fact is that skin is never just skin.

Cosmetic tattoo isn’t going anywhere. It will always be at the heart of what I do and a service I genuinely love providing. Instead, this next chapter feels like a natural evolution of MYLA. A collaborative space where cosmetic tattoo, corneotherapy, nutrition and evidence-based skin treatments can exist under one roof, with genuine client care guiding every decision.

The new studio is bigger, yes, but more importantly, it’s finally big enough to hold the vision.

To every person who has trusted me over the past three years: thank you. You’ve celebrated wins with me, weathered the hard seasons with me, and allowed me to do work that I genuinely love. This next chapter exists because of you, and I cannot wait to welcome you into it.

Just stopping by to give a massive thank you to my beautiful clients at the moment.
All weekends have been spent at the new location getting it ready, and I don’t think I’ve closed my computer til after 1am for over 6 weeks.
I am so tired - messages are getting missed or you’re getting dumb dumb replies because I haven’t comprehended…and you’re all still being beautifully patient.
There is so much more going on behind the scenes than people are aware of yet…lots of lots of hours every night perfecting something huge. So as we near the final two weeks in our current location and as my eyes look more weary, just hug me 😂

Would be lost without my Shane at the moment, my beautiful sister for helping so much with the kids, Macey my admin/branding superstar for her incredible work behind the scenes & our awesome team of trades. 1. Starting off with having my own lippies tattooed, also brow tattoo removal is going well - but I cannot wait to have them redone!
2. Where it started, I thought scraping these windows clean was going to send me to the loony bin!
3. I think we were a bit overwhelmed when we got the keys but our builder has moved MOUNTAINS in just 6 weeks.
4. Final colour selections, admittedly this lounge was very beige on the photos online and even was described as beige. But it works. Bend and adapt 😂
5. Oh and we are also renovating one of the units above the new salon. These need some loving...

Let’s talk aftercare + managing expectations 🤍

One of the biggest parts of cosmetic tattooing actually happens after you leave the appointment. Healing, fading and how you care for your tattoo over those first couple of weeks will all impact your final healed result.

Every client leaves my studio with a complete aftercare kit, detailed instructions and a rough healing timeline so you know what’s normal, what to expect and when to expect it.

Some of the biggest things I educate clients on:
• Your tattoo will heal darker in the few days prior, before very quickly softening and settling
• We intentionally take a conservative approach to begin with so we can see how your skin holds and heals pigment. Your touch up appointment reallllyyy does the thing!
• Sweating = moisture, so yes, the gym counts. Just chill for a few days, your workouts aren’t going anywhere and the healed result is worth protecting
• Avoid Botox around your appointment to allow everything to settle properly
• Retinols, acids and aggressive exfoliation can impact retention and longevity over time
• SPF is non negotiable once healed if you want to protect your investment

Honestly, your biggest role as the client is usually just to trust the process and ride the healing wave. Every stage can feel a little dramatic while it’s happening, but that’s exactly why I place such a huge emphasis on education and realistic expectations throughout the entire process
