As our children grow, they begin choosing what they feel comfortable sharing with the world, and that’s something I deeply respect. Not every child wants to be on social media. Mine now says mum I don't want that there, and maybe that’s also made me reflect on something bigger…

Sometimes family life doesn’t look exactly like what we once hoped or dreamed it would.

Sometimes motherhood feels loud and messy and emotional.
Sometimes it feels beautiful and heartbreaking all in the same breath.
Sometimes there’s grief mixed into the gratitude.
Sometimes there are struggles behind the smiles nobody sees.

There are mums today navigating children with big feelings, additional needs, anxiety, silence, overwhelm, distance, disconnection, loss, exhaustion or simply trying to hold everything together while still making everyone feel loved.

There are mums who have lost those children they had or so desperately are wanting to have, these mums deserve to be seen for who they are too. So maybe this Mother’s Day isn’t about creating the perfect post.

Maybe it’s about honouring the realness of motherhood. The version that asks us to keep loving, keep learning, keep softening, and keep showing up even when life hasn’t unfolded the way we imagined.
