Deep acne scar revision by Dr Manoharan

This 24 year-old man is a good example of the journey made by many acne patients with Dr Manoharan. After having his acne treated with isotretinoin and radiofrequency therapy, his severe scarring was improved significantly over time by TCA CROSS, Erbium/CO2 laser, Fraxel and pulsed-dye laser. No two patients are the same, and all will need an individualized treatment programme.

Dr Manoharan enjoys working with darker skin types which are always a challenge to treat due to a requirement for more conservative treatment settings, as well as higher risk of complications such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Treatments CAN be done, and in this case, the patient has been treated over a 2 year period with a combination of TCA CROSS, Erbium:YAG/CO2 laser, Radiofrequency treatments and dermal fillers. This is a 'full-house' of acne scar treatments, with successful results in a a challenging skin-type!
