He doesn’t know much about hair yet,
but he’s an expert in cuddles and stealing the spotlight.

With the new financial year approaching, I’ve made a few small changes to my pricing and refreshed my service packages to better reflect the time, products and care that goes into every appointment.

Sometimes the biggest transformations happen when you go darker 🤎

I was a little reluctant to share this stunning colour & cut from last month.

My beautiful client and I spoke about going darker for a while,
she first mentioned it to me this time last year.

We tried colours a little deeper blonde to start with like lowlights, root stretch toners and deeper cool tones to give a darker look.

But none of those ticked the box, so after a lot of back and forth my client made the decision to dive straight in and JUST DO IT…

aaaand she hated it 😅

Actually, she loved the colour, the haircut and everything about it was exactly what she asked for.

But after a few days she messaged me (it’s not you, it’s me)

As any hairdresser would have experienced before, your heart sinks..
and all you want to do is try and make the client feel best about themselves.

Unfortunately it was my last week in salon, I was too booked and busy that I couldn’t fit her back in to try and lighten it slightly… BUT she reassured me even though she didn’t feel herself, it was growing on her over time.

The goal with going darker with this client was to give her hair a break from foiling/bleaching it and let grow out healthy and lush (hence the huge haircut for a healthy fresh start)

The moral of this story is, us hairdressers often nail the brief & deliver the dream Pinterest hair - but sometimes that colour isn’t the right fit for the client & doesn’t feel their best selves in.. and that’s okay.

At the end of the day, we’re all just humans out here trying new things, trends, styles, hair colours, haircuts the list goes on but as hairdressers we never take offence if you don’t like it, don’t love it or it’s just not how you envisioned it.

Communication is key, honesty always & don’t be afraid to voice what you love or what you don’t love about your hair. ❤️
