I don’t think people realise how intimate a bridal tan actually is.

You’re standing with someone in the days before their wedding.
The nerves are real.
The emotions are high.
Every little detail feels huge.

And my job isn’t just to make the bronze perfect (duh it will be)

It’s to make her feel calm.
Seen.
Supported.

Because yes, the tan matters.

But so does the woman standing in front of me.

And if she walks out feeling beautiful, steady, and like she can finally take a breath - my job is done.

I had the absolute honour of tanning our bride & her bridal party, and seeing these photos come through made my whole heart explode.

This beautiful bride and I worked together well before the wedding day - trials, conversations, tweaks, all the little details that matter when you’re trusting someone with your skin for one of the biggest days of your life.

And on the night of her final wedding tan, wedding week was well and truly doing what wedding week does. IYKYK

So we slowed it down.

We took our time.

What a bride. What a day. What an absolute privilege. 🤎

Of all the versions of me I’ve ever been, being her mum is the one that has changed me the most.

It’s made me softer and stronger in the same breath.
More emotional. More protective. More tired than I ever thought possible. And somehow, more full than I’ve ever been.

Motherhood is beautiful, but it’s also big.
It’s messy, raw, emotional, overwhelming, ordinary and magic all at once.

And today, I’m thinking of every version of motherhood.

The mums.
The step mums.
The single mums.
The bonus mums.
The grandmothers raising babies.
The aunties who show up like mothers.
The women longing to become mums.
The women grieving their mums, their babies, or the version of motherhood they thought they’d have.
The mother figures who love, hold, guide and carry in ways that don’t always get seen.

Motherhood isn’t one story.

But it is love.
In all its beautiful, complicated forms.
