I still remember that moment Isabel messaged asking if I was hiring. I stared at it for a long time because I had just taken on two new apprentices, I’d not long hired Nae, and I already had a senior. My plate (and the salon) felt full.

But this little voice whispered, “you really need to meet her.” So I said, let’s catch up!

Iz walked in and it felt like we’d always known each other. Before she even left, we both knew she had the job… even though there wasn’t really a role available…I had to create it. And the universe made it happen. It was meant to be.

Her role was first meant to be small, but it became so much more. She became my first ever manager and the backbone of TGGC in 2025, my right hand… even while she was growing the most perfect baby boy 💙

Iz’s growth as a nail tech has been extraordinary and I’m so proud of how far she’s come. When she’s ready to return from mat leave, she’ll step back through the doors as .una__ I know she’ll smash this next chapter and I cannot wait to welcome her back in 2026.

A Note from Iz —
Going into my job interview with Kara, I had never felt more nervous. The idea of her hiring me at her high end salon made me think I was way in over my head. The reputation she built from the ground up speaks for itself. But as the interview went on and we began talking, I realised that I had never felt more comfortable talking to someone who will soon be my boss.

Through the years that thought has stayed the same, she not only shared her knowledge and skills with me, but her friendship, laughter and tears. She was always there for me when I needed someone to confide in, whether it was for work or home life. And for that, I will forever be grateful.

I am excited to continue my journey working along side her, my co workers and my clients. For the girls at the GGC, I am deeply appreciative and proud of all that we have accomplished together.

Two years ago, this fresh out of high school cutie walked through my doors. She was like a ray of sunshine and I knew immediately I needed to hire her and make her my first ever apprentice.

Teaching Tay all things nails, watching her flourish and passing on my industry knowledge to her has been one of my greatest achievements as a nail technician. It sparked a passion for teaching in me that I didn’t even know existed.

Tayla is such a full circle moment for me. I am so proud of us. From the teenager who walked through my door to the young woman she is now, her growth has been extraordinary. Her confidence and her ability still blow me away. She’ll never know just how proud of her I am.

So introducing her as Gloss Avenue today is one of my proudest career moments. I know Tay will flourish throughout her career, because look how far she’s come in two years… I truly can’t wait to see where she is in another two.

When Kara took me on as an apprentice at the end of 2023, I had never imagined the Journey we would all be taking together.

I’m forever grateful for the endless time and effort Kara spent to shape me into not only the nail tech, but the person I am today. I wouldn’t be here without her or the girls, and seriously couldn’t be more grateful for the love, support and opportunity’s Kara has given us💗

I’m so excited to grow in this next chapter of my life and thankful I get to hold the hands of our beautiful clients alongside my forever Good Glow Club family ✨

The woman who walked through my doors years ago is not the same woman I’m introducing to you today. Watching Courtney’s nails, skills and confidence grow has been a joy and a privilege. I am so proud of Court and I cannot wait to watch her to launch into this next chapter as Moody Manis.

A NOTE FROM COURT-
Being a part of The Good Glow Club has been filled with a lot of tears and even more laughs. Kara’s guidance through these last couple of years have helped shape me into the nail tech I am today. I will always appreciate our Queen K aka Work mum.

I have found a confidence I didn’t know I had, and a family I didn’t know I needed. I’m so grateful for the endless support from the GGC girls and the clients who we hold hands with.

I’m so excited for this next big step in my career, and I look forward to seeing all the familiar faces in 2026.
