It took one person, one night, and a whole lot of cruel comments to make me question who I was.
I was driving a thousand-metre train home on night shift when my watch started blowing up with notifications. Comment after comment. S**t product. S**t photos. Using AI. S**t skin. S**t teeth. Every insecurity I've ever quietly had about myself she found it, and went for it.
Three o'clock in the morning, alone with a train and my own thoughts, I had a choice: become cruel because someone had been cruel to me, or remember who I am.
I'm Kylie. 39, a mum of four, a night-shift train driver, I help run a transport business with my partner, and somewhere in the middle of all that I built a grass-fed tallow skincare brand from a product that actually helped my own skin. I'm not perfect. My photos aren't perfect. But I'm showing up and their opinion doesn't get to decide who I am. That part belongs to me.
This was meant to be a post about three lovely messages I received this week. Turns out I had to tell you the hard part first. Part 2 is coming that's where the good part begins. 🤍
If someone has ever made you question who you are let it hurt, let yourself feel it, then ask is this who I am, or just who they've decided I am? Two very different things.

I’m Kylie the woman behind Outback Tallow Co.
I’m 39, live in Townsville, North Queensland, and I’m a wife, mum of four, full-time train driver and co-owner of a transport business.
Basically, I wear a lot of hats and one of them actually has my logo on it. 🤠
My skin journey started when I was 12. Dryness, redness, irritation and feeling embarrassed by my skin followed me for years. I didn’t start Outback Tallow Co. because tallow suddenly became trendy. I started it after going back to something I remembered from childhood and finding something that genuinely worked well for my own skin.
What began as one woman searching for better-feeling skin became a little country skincare brand that sold out in its first 24 hoursand somehow, here we are.
Most days you’ll find me driving 1,000-metre trains, packing orders, creating content, answering messages and probably starting another idea before I’ve finished the last one. Hello, ADHD. 😂
