Wow... this one really snuck up on me!

This week marks 10 years since I opened the doors to Alison's Beauty Room from my little home on Kay Street 🍾🥂

When I first started, I never imagined I'd build such an incredible following and clientele, and so quickly. I honestly thought it would just be a little side business that I'd run one or two days a week while continuing to work as a beauty trainer.
But before too long, juggling both jobs became too much, so I made the decision to follow my heart and put all my energy into growing my business.

This year has also brought another huge milestone, relocating Alison's Beauty Room to the beautiful home my partner, Tom, and I purchased together 💕
I'll admit, I was quite worried that with the salon being a little further out of town and not quite as convenient as Kay Street, some of my clients might choose not to follow me.
But once again, you all proved just how amazing you are. You embraced the move, happily travelled those extra few minutes, and continued to support me every step of the way.
I've also been so lucky to welcome many wonderful new clients since the move too, so I really had nothing to worry about—just as so many of you kept telling me 😉

Looking back over the past 10 years, I honestly couldn't have done any of this without each and every one of you.
To all of my wonderful clients, thank you for your loyalty, trust and support throughout this incredible journey.
Thank you for supporting my small business, recommending me to your family and friends, and allowing me to do what I love every single day!
I've been lucky enough to build genuine friendships, share countless laughs, conversations, and stories, and celebrate so many of life's milestones alongside many of you.
Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping making Alison's Beauty Room what it is today.
I feel incredibly grateful and privileged to have spent the last 10 years looking after such beautiful people!

Please understand that having cancellation policies in place is never a personal attack, it's essential for keeping a small business open.

If you don't show up to a pre paid flight or hotel booking would you get a full refund? Absolutely not!

I know it can feel like "I'm only 1 person cancelling, surely it doesn't impact you that much".
But what you don't realise is that you are actually 1 of 5 that has cancelled or not shown up for their appointment that day, so yes it absolutely has a huge impact!

I know things happen out of our control sometimes, but it isn't up to me to absorb the financial cost of someone else's unexpected circumstances.
