Belly binding is a tradition of wrapping the postpartum belly. A long cloth (23 to 25m) is used to wrap the belly in the lower pelvic area up to the belly. The binding is typically done daily, for 10 to 15 times, to provide physical support for the new mom. Many women describe it feeling like a big hug, which provides emotional support as well.

Nowadays, belly binding is the most trendy and effective way to fix the diastasis recti and narrower the pelvis after labor. It helps to the new moms regain confidence.

Be reminded that belly binding isn’t the slimming treatment. The purpose is not to lose weight or “bounce back" to your pre-pregnancy weight. It’s the first step to help reshaping the body before proper exercising like jogging, running, cardio etc.
