I thought it was probably time I properly introduced myself 💜

I’m Alicia a local Mackay girl, wife, mum to two beautiful girls, Pilates instructor and the face behind Arlira Wellness Kinesiology.

Kinesiology came into my life through my own health journey. For years I suffered with endometriosis and chronic pain that at times was completely debilitating. I tried so many different things before eventually finding my way to kinesiology.

I still remember lying on the table after a session, completely blown away by how different I felt, and asking my kinesiologist, “Where do I learn this?”

Something just clicked. I knew I wanted to understand it and help other people the way she had helped me.

I was actually accepted into the college three separate times before I finally took the leap 😂 With a young family, finances and having just become a Pilates instructor, it never felt like the “right” time. The third time around my trainer called and said, “How can we make this happen?” So we did.

I’m now a practising kinesiologist and currently undertaking three diplomas Metaphysical & Vibrational Energies, Psychology and Musculoskeletal Kinesiology. It sounds like a lot 😂 but I take what I do incredibly seriously. I know what it’s like to live with chronic pain and desperately want answers, so continuing to learn is incredibly important to me.

I’ve always felt drawn to helping people, but it wasn’t until I found kinesiology that I genuinely felt like I’d found my purpose.

Pilates is another huge love of mine and has played such a big part in managing my own pain.

Outside of work, give me water skiing, snow skiing, camping, four wheel driving, travelling, the beach or anything with an adrenaline rush… but I equally love slow mornings, meditation, breathwork, Pilates and yoga.

Starting Arlira was a pipe dream for years, so opening my own clinic this year still feels pretty surreal.
