Next month, on 18 August, we honour all Australians who served in the Vietnam War. For over a decade, more than 60,000 Australians served in the war including almost 19,000 national servicemen.
This year, Vietnam Veteransโ Day also marks the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan, where Australians, outnumbered 10 to one, fought with courage and determination.
There are many ways commemoration is observed โ it is a deeply personal choice for Australians.
To help you recognise Vietnam Veterans' Day, in your own meaningful way, the Australian Government Department of Veterans' Affairs Vietnam War Kitbag has a range of digital resources to help you commemorate, including posters, music and poems, a suggested order of service and more.
