Orchid Thai Massage & Nails

Some kind words

A SMALL WARNING ABOUT ORDERING “VERY HARD”

Not long after starting our weight loss journey, my back decided to give me some grief.

Between the walking, exercising and running a farm, my body was just not used to it. I needed a remedial massage to help relieve the muscle pain.

Sarah suggested the Orchid Thai massage place in Fairy Street, Warrnambool, where she gets her nails done. I rang, and they fitted me in straight away.

Excellent. What could possibly go wrong?

The bed was unusually low and wide. A little odd! I stripped down to my jocks and lay face down, still assuming this would be a fairly conventional experience.

They’d asked whether I wanted soft, medium, hard or very hard.

“Very hard,” I said confidently. “I want it to do some good.”

An ambitious statement from a man with absolutely no understanding of the grading system.

The massage bloke climbed onto the bed - YES, ONTO the bed - and got to work with his elbows and knees. The dude was literally balancing on my back!

Initially, I was a little uncomfortable with the arrangement. Then he found the first knot and I immediately lost interest in everything except breathing.

This was heaven and hell in the same appointment.

I wanted him to stop. I wanted him to keep going.

For an entire hour, this bloke found every spot that had been giving me trouble. Nothing escaped his attention. I suspect a few knots just left voluntarily.

I walked out in a daze.

The next couple of days I was sore. Then the results started showing. The knots were all but gone, and my back felt so much better. Whatever that bloke did, it worked wonders for me.

My verdict? The Thai massage place in Fairy Street is excellent.

Would I go back? YES! Just be careful what you wish for.

Like the chilli scale in a good Thai restaurant, their massage scale deserves respect.

I ordered the equivalent of extra hot. It was tough going for a while. But my back is grateful. Very very grateful.
