ELDERBERRY for immunity
Elderberry a great herb to use for viral infections.
The common elderberry has a potent direct antiviral effect against the flu virus,It inhibits the early stages of an infection by blocking key viral proteins responsible for both the viral attachment and entry into the host cells. (science news 2019)
This rich source of antioxidants have been away to fight infections and increase immunity for hundreds of years. The berries and flowers of these trees are edible but need to be cooked before they are eaten In their uncooked state, elderberries are toxic and can cause diarrhea, vomiting and nausea. Essential oils can be used in diffusers or applied topically to enhance your wellbeing.
Different essential oils have specific properties and have many theraputic uses such as to ease acne, dermatitis, dry skin, relaxation/ stress, headaches and many other ailments.
My favourite oil is a preparation that helps rashes including nappy rash. It eases the inflammation and provides pain relief. My massage oil is a must for back pain.
I also make a lovely oil for skin care that incorporates Vit E, carrot seed with a base of various base oils such as almond oil, olive oil to name a few. I include other essential oils according to skin type and ultimately have a lovely replacement for chemical filled face creams.
I can make an oil preparation especially for you. Check out my website for more information.

DRY NEEDLING: It’s important to note dry needling is not the same as acupuncture. It uses similar tools, but that’s where the similarities end. Dry needling is performed by different practitioners with different training. Acupuncture is based on Eastern medicine, while dry needling is rooted in Western medicine.
Dry needling treats muscle tissue, and its goal is to reduce pain, inactivate trigger points and restore function.
Dry needling can be used for a wide variety of musculoskeletal issues, such as shoulder, neck, heel, hip and back pain. While research indicates dry needling is a safe and effective approach for treating and managing pain,

My view is good health starts in the Gut. It is like the engine room of your body. Our gut, or digestive system, is central to our health and how well the body functions. If the digestive system does not work properly it will effect if we absorb the nutrients from our food, how we process the nutrients and how we dispose of waste. Its like a well oiled machine.
You can have a good diet however if your digestive system is not working properly then you may not be getting the benefits
Good digestion needs a few factors to function well:
Relax - we can’t digest well if we are stressed or eating on the run (or eating whilst checking emails!)
Chew properly – our mouth has digestive enzymes that help break food down. If we gulp our food, it places an extra workload on the stomach to break the food down
We need good bacteria in our intestines- there are billions of many types of bacteria in our guts which help break down food further, particularly fibre. They also h help keep our bowel motions regular. Once we have absorbed all the nutrients from our food we need to effectively eliminate the wastes accumulated. Drinking plenty of water will also help promote regular bowel movements
We need a healthy liver to break down the beneficial fats in our diet and detoxify to keep us running clean. If we overload this with too many saturated fats, too much caffeine, sugar and alcohol, then it can’t do its job of detoxification well
Poor health or long-term stress, some medications, even lack of adequate sleep may impact the balance of bacteria in our gut
The importance of gut health and why does it matter? From digesting the food we eat to supporting our immune system, the gut plays a role in our general wellbeing. Find out why your gut health matters and how to look after it.
