Pigmentation can be caused by a number of reasons including sun exposure, inflammation, hormal changes, trauma and irritation.
Thats why its so important to understand the cause before trying to treat it.
Commonly there are three types of pigment catergorised by the different causes.
Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation: Usually caused by inflammation, trauma & irritation
Melasma: Caused by hormonal changes & sun exposure
Sun spots: Directly caused by UV exposure.
