“Catching Waves” – All Abilities Surf Life Saving program (for age 5 to Young Adults) is back after a couple of unsettled years due to covid!

This brilliant all inclusive program brings the whole community together. This program is for kids and young adults with a physical and/or intellectual disability and/or learning difficulties or a kid that might just find Nippers to be challenging who would like to get out amongst the waves!

Bulli SLSC will have one-on-one water safety to help and encourage all our participants to build and gain confidence in the water. We focus on water safety and awareness and love to get the kids out into the water (either pool or surf)!

Bulli SLSC has a beach wheelchair that can be taken into the water that can be used if your young person has physical/mobility difficulties.

The program is run by Bulli SLSC members (all volunteers) with surf life saving qualifications – they may not hold formal qualifications in working with people with special needs but are willing to give their time, impart their surf lifesaving knowledge and most of all, are keen to have some fun with the young people and their families.

The program at Bulli SLSC will be held on the following days:
• Sunday 21 January 2024 - 1015am
• Sunday 28 January 2024 - 1015am
• Sunday 4 February 2024 - 1015am
• Sunday 11 February 2024 – Rest Week
• Sunday 18 February 2024 – 1015am
• Sunday 25 February 2024 – 1015am
• Sunday 3 March 2024 – 9am
Program will go for approx. 1 hour each week.

Cost – Each participant will need to purchase a pink Hi-viz rash vest $20-$30 (the participant needs to wear this rash vest for identification in the water)
