Hi everyone, it’s been a while since I’ve posted on this page, sorry about that. I have been working behind the scenes doing some fundraising and lots more research.

Attached is a document I have prepared regarding the mortality rates. I am just in the process of updating the Hidden Dangers document and will post it once I’ve finished it.

It really has been a rough road which doesn’t seem to get any easier and Christmas was horrendous but the fight to raise awareness goes on.

Massive thanks to everyone who has accepted my request to join this group.

My mission is to spread awareness to as many countries as I can. Having spoken to countless people it would appear that the UK and Australia are not the only countries where Sleep Apnoea is not treated with the severity that it warrants. With this in mind I would be extremely grateful if you could please invite and share as much as you can.

My research will continue daily and as soon as I find out new information I will post it on here.

Thanks again, it means a lot 💛🖤

Sleep Apnea - The Silent Killer - Long Post

Hi everyone, this page is to raise awareness of Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). As a result of MY SON Adam’s postmortem report I will make it my life’s mission to try and educate people, as well as myself, on the absolute devastation of this silent killer if not treated correctly. I do this for and on behalf of Adam. Not only for Adam but also for anyone out there who has, or have loved ones, that suffer with this debilitating illness. Below is some information that I have found so far.

OSA causes severe heart problems. These are caused by lack of oxygen, which speaks for itself, to the heart this makes it harder for the heart to pump blood around your system resulting in Cardiomegaly. In other words an enlarged heart.

OSA also causes weight gain. This is caused when you don’t get enough sleep because your upper airway is blocked, not only do you experience sleep deprivation, but you also never reach the level of sleep in which your hormones are regulated. The result is a hormone imbalance and weight gain. This also makes losing weight almost impossible. The hormone Leptin, the hormone that tells you your stomach is full, is interrupted. Also, the hormone Ghrelin, the hormone that causes you to eat more, increases so high levels of Ghrelin means you increase your eating and gain weight.

Three factors, lack of energy, slow metabolism and hormonal changes combine to make you want simple carbs and foods high in sugar. If you’re reaching for unhealthy sugary foods you will gain weight causing other health problems such as high blood pressure.

Losing weight and other lifestyle changes like improved nutrition and making physical activity a part of your daily routine can improve your OSA symptoms. Having said this though, if you don’t get proper vital treatment from your care team you will be unable to get the rest you need and you will have difficulty maintaining a healthy weight. This in turn will make your OSA worse which will cause you to gain weight.

If you do get proper vital treatment from your care team you absolutely 100% can lose weight. Losing just 10% of your body weight can result in dramatic improvement and significantly reduce your OSA.

OSA does not just cause you heart problems and weigh gain, it also causes acid reflux, depression, mental confusion and memory loss, asthma, weakened immune system, stroke, dementia/alzheimers, low libido, liver problems and type 2 diabetes.

It is absolutely imperative that you are given the right advice and treatment from your care team as this can vastly improve your life style.

Sadly for MY SON Adam his care team were totally negligent in his care and treatment. His weight sky rocketed to 168kg which is totally unacceptable and was completely avoidable. I am beyond angry at how little consideration was given to Adam’s requirements to enable him to maintain a healthy as possible lifestyle.

Yes, I understand that Covid played a part in Adam’s lack of care but this should not be an excuse for anyone to use when someone’s life depends on them receiving correct treatment. Care teams should do their jobs properly under any circumstances.

This is all written from my devastation and broken heart.

RIP my beloved son 💙
