A strong understanding of anatomy is fundamental to patient safety.

Anatomy rarely looks exactly like the textbook. It varies from person to person and underpins every clinical decision I make, which is why seeing those variations firsthand is so valuable.

On Sunday, I attended my second cadaver course. Anatomy Uncovered: Advanced Cadaver Training for Aesthetic Nurses by Dr Lucas De Siqueira at the historic Sydney Hospital & Sydney Eye Hospital.

The plan is at least one cadaver course each year. Course number two, with plenty more to come.
