Is there a local group for...?
Who can help with...?

We see them too.

And for quite some time now, we've been paying attention.

We've been collecting the questions our community is asking, noticing the recommendations people make, discovering businesses and services we didn't know existed, and building a much clearer picture of what people are actually looking for across the Capricorn Coast.

Our recent Community Roll Calls have been part of that too.

Because every question tells us something.

It tells us what people need.
What they're trying to find.
How they naturally ask for it.
And sometimes, where the gaps are.

All of that is helping shape what we're quietly building behind the scenes at The Wellbeing Hub.

Because if we want to make local information easier to find, we need to start by understanding what our community is actually looking for.

2 WEEKS TO GO! 👟

Two weeks from today, we’ll be standing at Farnborough Beach ready to kick off our 5th Annual Walk for Wellbeing.

And things are definitely starting to come together behind the scenes.

The shirts are being made.
The run-sheet is being finalised.
To do lists are pasted all over the place.
Our volunteers and community supporters are falling into place.
The BBQ crew is sorted.
And we now have 120+ people registered to walk with us.

Five years ago, I really had no idea what this little event would become.

But every year our community shows up.

For themselves.
For someone they love.
For connection.
For conversation.
For mental health.
Or simply because spending a Sunday morning walking along our beautiful coastline with a bunch of good humans sounds like a pretty decent way to start the day.

And in just two weeks, we get to do it all again. 💚

Fathers of Sons are joining us at the Walk for Wellbeing! 👏

There’s something pretty special about seeing different parts of our community come together to help make the Walk happen each year.

This year, we’re very grateful to have Fathers of Sons joining our event support crew and taking care of the BBQ at the Kemp Beach finish. 🌭

Fathers of Sons is a local community of dads and positive male role models, helping boys learn practical life skills through free monthly Saturday activities across Yeppoon and Rockhampton.

And on Sunday 11 October, they’ll be putting some of those practical skills to very good use — keeping our hungry walkers fed after making their way from Farnborough Beach to Kemp Beach!

A huge thank you to the Fathers of Sons crew for giving their time and getting behind this year’s Walk for Wellbeing.

We love seeing local groups supporting local events — because that’s exactly what community is about. 💚
