✨ WHAT IS RED LIGHT THERAPY? ✨
Where modern light therapy meets energetic wellness.

Red light therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that exposes the body to specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light.

Unlike UV light, red and near-infrared light do not tan or burn the skin. Instead, these wavelengths can pe*****te into the skin and tissues, where they interact with our cells.

🔴 THE SCIENCE OF RED LIGHT

Inside our cells are tiny structures called mitochondria, often described as the “powerhouses” of our cells.

Red and near-infrared light can influence mitochondrial activity and cellular signalling, including processes involved in the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) — the molecule cells use as a source of energy.

This is one reason red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, has been researched for areas including:

✨ Skin health and rejuvenation
✨ Muscle recovery
✨ Temporary relief of some pain and stiffness
✨ Inflammation and tissue recovery
✨ Wound-healing processes
✨ General recovery and wellbeing

Results vary depending on the wavelengths, dose, treatment area, equipment and reason for treatment, and red light therapy isn’t a replacement for medical care.

At Goddess Inspired Therapies, we also look at treatments from a holistic and energetic perspective.

Within traditional chakra philosophy, red is associated with the Root Chakra — Muladhara, located at the base of the spine.

The Root Chakra represents:

❤️ Feeling supported and present

When working energetically, surrounding yourself with red light can become a beautiful opportunity to focus on grounding, reconnecting with your body and creating a sense of stability.

You might visualise the red light surrounding your body while repeating:

✨ “I am safe. I am grounded. I am supported. I am connected to the Earth beneath me.” ✨

It’s important to remember that chakra balancing is a spiritual/energetic practice, rather than a medically established mechanism of red light therapy. I love bringing these two worlds together while respecting what each represents.

🌙 WHAT DOES A SESSION FEEL LIKE?

There’s nothing you need to do during your session.

Simply lie back, allow yourself to slow down and enjoy some quiet time while surrounded by the beautiful warmth and glow of the red light.

Some people use this time to meditate, practise breathwork, set an intention or simply rest.

Red light therapy is often used regularly rather than as a one-off treatment. The ideal frequency depends on the device, treatment goal and individual circumstances.
