কোভিড ১৯ এর নিউ মিউটেশনে নাক থেকে নেওয়া নমুনার রেজাল্ট নেগেটিভ দেখালেও সেটা আসলে ভুল রেজাল্ট। এই ভাইরাস সরাসরি এখন ফুসফুসে আক্রমণ করছে। জ্বর কিংবা কাশির মতো লক্ষণ এখানে দেখা যাচ্ছে না। শুধু শরীরে ব্যাথা, দুর্বলতা, অরুচি ইত্যাদি লক্ষণ প্রকাশ পাচ্ছে। রোগী স্বাভাবিক অবস্থা থেকে ৮-১০ ঘন্টার মধ্যেই জীবন মৃত্যুর সন্ধিক্ষণে চলে যাচ্ছে। যারা গত বছর কোভিড থেকে নিরাময় হয়েছিলেন তাদের ঝুঁকি আরো বেশি কারণ তাদের শ্বাসযন্ত্র এখনো পরিপূর্ণভাবে রিকোভার হয়নি। যখন নতুন স্ট্রেইনে তারা আক্রান্ত হবে, তাদের বেঁচে থাকার হার খুব কম থাকছে। আমরা ইন্ডিয়ার বিভিন্ন জায়গা থেকে তথ্য উপাত্ত পাচ্ছি এবং এটা শুধু অ্যালার্মিংই নয়, একই সাথে ইতিহাসের সবচেয়ে মহা বিপর্যয়। আমরা সন্দেহ করছি, পাকিস্তান, আফগানিস্তান এবং বাংলাদেশের মানুষ নতুন স্ট্রেইনে আক্রান্ত হবে এবং ইন্ডিয়ার মতোই দুর্ভোগ পোহাবে। আমাদের কলিগ যারা এই মুহূর্তে ছোট শহরগুলোতে আছেন, বিশেষ করে উত্তর পূর্বাঞ্চলে, তারা বলছেন, এটা এমন এক যুদ্ধ যেটায় ইতোমধ্যেই আমরা হেরে গিয়েছি। এখন ক্ষয়ক্ষতি নিয়ন্ত্রণ এবং মানুষের প্রাণ যতটুকু সম্ভব পারা যায় বাঁচাতে হবে। আমরা আমাদের শহরে চারশরও বেশি শিশুকে দেখেছি যারা ১০/১২ ঘন্টার মধ্যেই মারা গেছে। প্রথম অবস্থায় তাদের কোনো লক্ষণ প্রকাশ পায়নি কিন্তু ঘন্টাখানেকের মধ্যেই তাদের অক্সিজেন লেভেল ড্রপ করেছে এবং মারা গেছে। আমরা এমনও অনেক রোগীকে পেয়েছি যারা মুম্বাই থেকে বাহিরে গিয়েছে, ভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত হয়েছে এবং তাদের মধ্যে ১৭ থেকে ২৮ জন মারা গেছে। সরকারী এবং বেসরকারী উভয় হাসপাতালেই স্বাস্থ্য ব্যবস্থা মুখ থুবরে পড়েছে। ধনী, মধ্যবিত্ত এবং গরীব সবাই এতে আক্রান্ত হচ্ছে এবং ভাইরাসটা কল্পনার চেয়েও দ্রুত গতিতে ছড়াচ্ছে। নতুন আরো স্ট্রেইনের আগমন হলে কেয়ামতের মতো অবস্থার সৃষ্টি হবে। এটা একটা ওয়ার্নিং, আপনার ঘরে যারা আছে তাদের ব্যাপারে যথাযথ সতর্ক পদক্ষেপ নিন। শিশু থেকে বুড়ো সবার জন্যই। এই ভাইরাস শুধুমাত্র ইন্ডিয়াতে আর সীমাবদ্ধ নেই। আমাদের সরকার এবং স্বাস্থ্য ব্যবস্থা ব্যার্থ হয়েছে একে সামাল দিতে। কেউই এরকম পরিস্থিতির ব্যাপারে কল্পনাও করেনি। যে সকল উন্নয়নশীল দেশ আছে যাদের উন্নত স্বাস্থ্য ব্যবস্থা নেই তাদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলছি, এটা আমাদের আওতার বাইরে। একে যে করেই হোক প্রতিহত করতে হবে যদি সেজন্য শক্ত লকডাউনও দেওয়ার প্রয়োজন হয় নয়তো স্প্যানিশ ফ্লুতে যেরকমটা হয়েছিল সেভাবেই আমাদের শুধু ডেড বডি গণনা করা ছাড়া আর কোনো কিছু করার থাকবে না।

WARNING: COVID19 new mutation is giving false negatives in Nasal swaps. The virus is now hitting straight into the lungs. It is carrying no symptoms like fever or cough. Just body ache, weakness, loss of appetite. Patients go from mild condition to extreme life and death situation within 8 to 10 hours. Patients that have previous recovered from COVID19 in last year or so are at higher risk as their respiratory system is still not fully recovered. When they get the new mutation their fatality rate is much higher. We are receiving data from across India and it is not just alarming, it is an absolute disaster of historical proportions. We suspect Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh will all now be experiencing the new mutations of virus and face a dire situation just like India. Our colleagues in small towns across India especially North Eastern regions are saying it is a battle we have already lost. It is now damage control and save as many lives as possible. We have seen 400 plus children just in our district die within 10 to 12 hours. Intitial period they showed no symptoms and within hours their oxygen levels dropped and deceased. We have also attended to several patients who traveled into Mumbai from overseas and had received their jabs and ended up contracting the virus and 17 out of 28 have died. Health services both in public and private hospitals have collapsed. Rich, middle class and poor all are affected and it is spreading fast, very fast. Any further mutation or variants will potentially be a doomsday scenario. This is a WARNING go to extreme precautionsfor everyone in your household. From children to elders. This virus is no longer containable in India. Our government and systems have failed. No one could have ever anticipated this. For all other developing countries with weak healthcare systems please note this is beyond all our capacities. Let’s work towards trying to stop the spread even if it means an ironclad lockdown or else the only thing we will have left is a body count statistic that would make the Spanish flu look like a non event.
