How do you protect your skin?
Taking care of your skin isn't only about cleansing and treating it. You also need to **protect it from things that can damage or weaken it.
Here are the basics:
1. WEAR SUNSCREEN
Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen during the day, especially when exposed to sunlight. Sunscreen helps protect the skin from UV damage and can help prevent dark spots from becoming more noticeable.
2. DON'T OVER-EXFOLIATE
Exfoliation can help remove dead skin cells, but doing it too often can irritate the skin and weaken the skin barrier.
3. KEEP YOUR SKIN HYDRATED
Use a suitable moisturiser regularly to help maintain a healthy skin barrier.
4. BE GENTLE WITH YOUR SKIN
Avoid aggressive scrubbing, very hot water and constantly switching between strong active products.
5. LISTEN TO YOUR SKIN
Burning, persistent stinging, excessive dryness or irritation is not something you should simply "push through."
Remember:
Healthy skin isn't skin that has been stripped, bleached or constantly exfoliated. Healthy skin is skin that is cared for, protected and maintained consistently.

What is a cleanser?
A cleanser is a skincare product used to **clean the skin by removing dirt, sweat, excess oil, makeup, sunscreen and other impurities that build up on the skin.
Think of it as the first step of your skincare routine preparing your skin for the products that come after.
How should you use a cleanser?
Wet your face with lukewarm water.
Apply a small amount of cleanser and gently massage it over your skin with your fingertips. There is no need to scrub aggressively.
Rinse thoroughly and gently pat your face dry.
Then continue with your *treatment, moisturiser and, in the morning, sunscreen.
How often should you cleanse?
For most people, twice a day morning and evening is enough.
However, your skin type and the type of cleanser you use matter. If your skin feels tight, dry or irritated after cleansing, your cleanser may be too harsh or you may be cleansing more than your skin needs.
Clean skin doesn't mean squeaky-clean skin. Healthy skin should feel clean, comfortable and balanced.

**What is a skincare routine?**
A skincare routine is simply a set of steps you follow regularly to **clean, care for, protect and maintain the health of your skin.**
And no, it doesn't have to be complicated or involve 10 different products.
Here’s 👇
**1. CLEANSE**
Clean your skin to remove sweat, dirt, excess oil and impurities.
**2. TREAT**
Use a serum or treatment that addresses your specific skin concern—such as dark spots, acne, dehydration or uneven skin tone.
**3. MOISTURISE**
Apply a moisturiser to help keep your skin hydrated and support the skin barrier.
**4. PROTECT — MORNING**
Finish with sunscreen. This is especially important when you're trying to improve the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin tone.
**Your basic routine:**
Morning: **Cleanse → Treat → Moisturise → Sunscreen**
Night: **Cleanse → Treat → Moisturise**
The goal isn't to use the most products. The goal is to use the **right products consistently.**

A good skincare routine doesn't have to be complicated. Cleanse. Treat what needs treating. Moisturise. Protect.
Do you understand?
If you don't know what a Routine is,check next post.

GLYCOLIC ACID IS POWERFUL. BUT POWER IS NOT EVERYTHING.
Glycolic acid is an **alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) used in cosmetic formulations for exfoliation.
Because of its relatively small molecular size, it can provide effective exfoliation.
That is part of what makes it popular.
But this is exactly why we need to be careful with the idea that:
“Stronger = better.”
With exfoliating acids, concentration, pH, frequency of use and the condition of your skin all matter.
If your skin is constantly irritated, increasing the strength of your products is probably not the answer.
Your skin doesn't need punishment.
It needs the right formulation and the right routine.
Happy Sunday beautiful 😍
