Plot twist: most people are way too busy worrying about themselves to inspect your parting.

I have hair loss. I wear hair.
And I’d rather have a slightly detectable topper than spend my day worrying whether someone can detect my topper. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Life’s too short. Wear the damn hair. 😂♥️

My topper washing routine + favorite hair & blending products 🤍
When it comes to alternative hair, my biggest rule is: LESS IS MORE.

I wear my topper every day and only wash it about every 6–8 weeks. Too much washing and too many products can quickly create buildup and make the hair feel heavy.

I start with:

➕ Color Wow Color Security Shampoo & Conditioner
Shampoo mainly at the roots, conditioner only on the mid-lengths & ends.

or

➕ Davroe Moisture Senses Shampoo & Conditioner
When the hair needs some extra moisture.
Davroe is available on the website.

On towel-dried hair:

✨ Color Wow Dream Coat Extra Strength
For frizz and humidity control. I apply it lightly, comb through and then ❗️always let my topper air-dry naturally overnight on a mannequin head. I don’t blow-dry my toppers or wigs.

Once completely dry:

✨ ghd Bodyguard Heat Protect Spray
A light mist before using my straightener or curling iron. Personally, I’m not a big fan of the Steampod 😬

Important with all sprays: always spray from a good distance. Don’t spray too close and don’t use too much, you really only need a light mist.

Between washes, only if the ends feel dry or tangly:

✨ Oribe Run-Through Detangling Primer
Just a tiny amount.

And/or

✨ Kérastase Elixir Ultime Oil
Literally around ¼ of a drop on the ends. That’s enough 🙏🏼

In spring/summer, when needed:

✨ Moroccanoil Color Care Protect & Prevent Spray
For extra UV and color protection.

Masks and richer conditioners? Only when the hair actually needs them. Definitely not necessary on a new piece.

My blending must-haves:

🖌 Color Wow Root Cover Up
Perfect for sparse areas around the parting or hairline, to cover any visible edges

🖌 L’Oréal True Match Powder
I lightly apply it to blend the lace into my skin or to conceal any visible knots. I personally prefer powder over blurring pens, gentler on the lace.

💡 My biggest tips:
Wash less.
Use less product.
Always air-dry.
Spray from a distance.
Use less oil than you think you need.
Avoid buildup.

The hair will move more naturally and stay fresher for longer.

Can you cut bangs into a topper? ✂️ Yes, and here’s your answer. 😍

This beauty is wearing the SL Topper with Closed Lace Front color Bianca, with bangs cut into it and I absolutely LOVE the result. The bangs blend so naturally and completely change the look.

A topper doesn’t have to be worn exactly as it arrives. A good cut can truly make it yours. 🤍
