Hot flashes and changing periods may be the symptoms most commonly associated with menopause—but they aren’t the only ones.
Joint and muscle pain, brain fog, and unusually dry or itchy skin can also appear as hormone levels change.
These symptoms aren’t always caused by hormones, so persistent or concerning changes should be properly assessed. But if they arrived alongside other signs of perimenopause or menopause, there may be a connection.
At LifeThyme Wellness, we use acupuncture and functional nutrition to provide individualized support throughout perimenopause, menopause and beyond.

We often talk about digestive problems—but what should healthy digestion actually feel like?
You should generally be able to eat without regularly experiencing pain, reflux, nausea or excessive bloating. Your appetite should feel predictable, bowel movements should pass comfortably and meals should leave you nourished rather than depleted.
That doesn’t mean your digestion must be perfect every day. Occasional gas, bloating or changes after an unusual meal can be normal.
The concern is when discomfort becomes frequent enough that you plan your meals, clothing, travel or social life around your stomach.
Good digestion should work quietly in the background—not run your life.
If your digestion doesn’t look or feel like this, come and see us at LifeThyme Wellness for acupuncture or a functional nutrition consultation.

Your nervous system doesn’t always announce that it is overwhelmed. Sometimes it shows up as poor sleep, racing thoughts, tight shoulders, jaw clenching, irritability or stress-related digestive changes.
Acupuncture may help calm an overactive stress response and support sleep, mood and digestion.
Massage can reduce the physical tension your body has been holding and provide the calming sensory input that helps it feel safe enough to relax.
You don’t have to wait until you completely burn out before giving your nervous system some support.

A familiar name, attractive label or fancy little daily packet containing a variety of supplements doesn’t automatically mean the products are high quality—or right for you.
Convenient packaging can make supplements look impressive, but do you know where the ingredients come from, whether they have been independently tested or if you actually need everything included?
Before recommending a supplement, we consider whether you need it, whether the dose is appropriate, what else is in the product, how its quality is verified and whether it is safe alongside your medications and health conditions.
Our recommendations are based on the individual and the formulation—not loyalty to a particular brand.
If a product’s ingredients or standards change, our recommendation may change too.

More Than a Century of Experience. Over 1,500 Hours of Continuing Education.
At LifeThyme Wellness, Anne, Tiki, and Claire bring together more than 100 years of combined clinical experience helping people manage pain, recover from injury, improve mobility, and support their overall health and well-being.
Experience alone isn't enough. Throughout their careers, our therapists have completed more than 1,500 hours of continuing education, continually expanding their knowledge and refining their skills to stay current with the latest techniques, research, and best practices in therapeutic massage.
While many people think of massage as a luxury or relaxation service, our therapists work within a wellness clinic environment alongside acupuncture and nutrition professionals, providing therapeutic care designed to help people move better, function better, and feel their best.
When it comes to your health, experience matters. Education matters. Results matter.

Hot flashes get all the attention. Nutrition deserves some, too.
If you're struggling with low energy, poor sleep, weight gain, brain fog, mood changes, cravings, or feeling like your body isn't responding the way it used to, what you eat matters.
Nutrition isn't glamorous. It's not a quick fix. But it's one of the few things you have complete control over every single day.
Every meal is an opportunity to support your hormones, stabilize blood sugar, reduce inflammation, preserve muscle, improve energy, and help your body adapt to the changes that come with midlife.
You don't have to be perfect. You don't need a fad diet. Small, consistent choices add up.
Menopause may not be optional. How you fuel yourself is.

Massage means different things to different people.
We are a wellness clinic that provides therapeutic and clinical massage designed to help you move better, feel better, and function better.
Our massage therapists are highly trained professionals who work with people experiencing muscle tension, neck and back pain, headaches, sports injuries, restricted movement, stress, postural issues, and the aches and pains of everyday life.
Every treatment is tailored to your needs and may incorporate deep-tissue techniques, trigger-point therapy, myofascial release, stretching, and other therapeutic approaches.
Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, training for an event, or simply trying to keep up with the demands of work, family, and life, our goal is to help you feel your best.
This is massage with purpose.

Evidence & Empathy: Dry Mouth After Cancer Treatment
Dry mouth (xerostomia) is a common side effect after radiation treatment for head and neck cancers. It can affect eating, speaking, sleeping, digestion, dental health, and overall quality of life.
Research continues to show that acupuncture may help stimulate salivary flow and reduce symptoms of chronic dry mouth in cancer patients after radiation therapy.
A study published in JAMA Network Open found that acupuncture improved symptoms of radiation-induced xerostomia and quality of life in patients recovering from cancer treatment.
At LifeThyme Wellness, our acupuncture physicians have advanced training in integrative oncology, acupuncture, and supportive cancer care, helping patients navigate treatment side effects with individualized care.

Point Taken:
Why Try Traditional Chinese Medicine?
A lot of people come to Traditional Chinese Medicine after they feel like they’ve “tried everything.”
They’ve stretched, rested, changed diets, taken medications, pushed through stress, ignored symptoms, or been told their labs are “normal” even though they still don’t feel well.
What many patients are looking for is not just symptom management — they want someone to step back and look at the bigger picture.
How is your sleep?
Your stress response?
Digestion?
Energy?
Recovery?
Hormones?
Breathing?
Pain patterns?
Nervous system?
Traditional Chinese Medicine approaches the body as an interconnected system rather than a collection of isolated symptoms.
That doesn’t mean replacing conventional medicine.
It means adding another lens to understand why the body may not be functioning optimally.
Some patients come for pain and stay because they start sleeping better.
Others come for stress and realize their digestion improves.
Sometimes improving one system helps another start working better, too.
The goal is not perfection.
The goal is to help the body function better as a whole.
