The heating season i.e. ruthless dry air has begun! Heating batteries in winter and air conditioners in summer dry the air as well as our skin. But what level of humidity is right for us?

Normal for people is considered humidity of 40-60%. Most people feel comfortable within this norm, although it does not mean that with other indicators the air is not good for breathing. The proof if this are the residents of dry deserts and tropical rain forests.
Normal can be considered that level of humidity to which a person is used to, and it is only 10-15% different from the conventional one.

Dry skin of the face and hands requires constant use of cosmetic moisturizers. People with sensitive skin susceptible to certain skin diseases and/or allergic reactions on caring products, always suffer because of exacerbation in autumn and winter. The reason for this is dry air in the room. Therefore, drink as much water as possible and do not forget to use special moisturizers. A natural mist for the face Office bloom can help you to keep optimal water balance. It actively moisturizes, refreshes and tones the skin while the formula of natural active ingredients protects you from the harmful blue light of gadgets.
Spread it evenly on your face and hair.

Your skin will be delighted!

City skin.
The topic of polluted air and its detrimental effects on health and appearance are now increasingly being raised in various publications due to the new discoveries made by scientists.👀

It is been proved that the main air pollutants that affect the skin are: ultraviolet radiation, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, volatile organic connections, nitrogen oxides, soot particles and cigarette smoke. The actions of these substances can be enhanced by ultraviolet light.
This year a study was published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology showing a direct link between poor ecology and changes in the appearance. More than 800 women in Germany between the ages of 67 and 80 and 743 women in China between the ages of 28 and 70 were under observation during five years. In women, living in urban areas where concentrations of soot particles and road exhausts are present in the air, active formation of pigmentation and wrinkles was observed: a violation of the barrier function of the skin, which provokes various skin pathologies (inflammation, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne and cancer).

Where to run, where to hide?🤷‍♀️
The question is rather rhetorical, because hardly anyone has the desire and the ability to change their place of residence because of the risk of pigmentation on the face. But it is obvious that the issue of bad ecology goes far beyond the appearance. As toxic smog is harmful for the environment, there is no surprise that it is also harmful to the human health.

Talking about the skin: the most important in its protection is the preservation and maintenance of barrier functions, i.e. you need to keep your skin healthy and thoroughly cleanse your face in the evenings to protect yourself from the harmful effects of industrial dust.
One of the preventive methods to deal with environmental damage is to include in your daily care the products with ingredients that have proven properties of antioxidant, anti-inflammation, regeneration and protection (important!).

Take care of yourself!😉

Frost, cold wind and snow crystals are serious test for your skin strength.❄️⛄️
⠀
Scientists claim that the notorious "frost and sun" - dry air, wind, vitamin deficiency contribute to the skin damage and premature aging.
⠀
The rosy cheeks of the beautiful young women inspired many artists and poets, however, we all know what these cheeks cost them. Moreover, sometimes, the nose turns red instead of cheeks or the skin covers with spots or becomes dry and flakes or even everything at the same time.

Of course, you can use “old-fashioned methods” to protect skin from frost and smear with goose, pork, bear, badger or mink fat. How is that idea? ) Nowadays, we prefer to freeze rather than appear on the street with shiny, oily skin. But we don’t have to suffer anymore as today we have the opportunity to use special clothing, different accessories and products protecting the skin from any weather. However, the choice of dermatological and cosmetic "anti-winter" products is limited. Nevertheless, it is crucial to choose the good quality protective cream.

But how to choose?
Look at the composition:
1. If you see paraffin and/or silicones in the INCI, leave it on the shelf in the store. These components will destroy the water balance of the skin and block dermal respiration.
2. If you see natural protective components such as beeswax and/or shea butter, grab everything and begin to protect yourself and your loved ones from the bad weather. Natural ingredients will not only protect but also nourish the skin.

Cosmetics Or Dermatological PPE?

We have been working in different industries and different countries for years, and still there is one big issue we always get to face. What do we produce? Skin care products, creams, cosmetics or... dermatological personal protective equipment?

Originally, our first clients are from Russia, a controversial country with the very detailed regulation on personal protective equipment (PPE). The law assigns the status of personal protective equipment to the creams and prescribes the rate of issuance of products for employees in accordance with the contamination they work with. All pre-work and after-work creams, disinfectants, cleansing products and repellents are united in one group of Dermatological Personal Protective Equipment (DPPE).

Occupational Skin Protection: 5 Most Common Questions

As a manufacturer of professional skin protective products, our job is to advise our clients about the best practice of skin protection at work. We uncover how our clients are taking care of their skin, and what is more important, they share their doubts with us. Here we are introducing 5 common doubts that take place in different companies and in different countries.

1. I don’t have problems with skin. Why do I need skin care products?

Having no problems is the exact reason for using skin protection products, as they are made to prevent diseases, not to cure them. We are happy to know that you’re healthy, and we aim at keeping people healthy at their workspace. However, occupational skin diseases are among the top three registered occupational diseases in Europe (according to EU-OSHA). 25% of these diseases take chronic or almost incurable form. Take skin care seriously when it’s not too late.

2. My work is not that “dirty”. Why do I need products for skin protection?

Actually, one of the most common agents that cause skin disorder is… water. No matter how “dirty” environment you work in, your skin is always attacked by such ordinary factors as dust, dry air, water, as well as soaps and cleaners, rubber materials and even gloves. Pre-work and after-work creams can prevent skin irritation and keep your skin healthy for a long time.

3. I work in gloves. Aren’t my hands protected enough?

We never underestimate the importance of gloves in the skin protection system. However, we are also aware that gloves happen to get teared. Or that some people take off gloves to do some work with small details. No need to mention that gloves can also be the reason for skin irritation. We always suggest using special creams for glove-wearers and after-work creams to reduce harmful effect of contact with irritating substances and materials.

4. Can I use barrier cream instead of gloves?

As we mentioned before, gloves are important. Dangerous chemicals and substances will work their way through the skin anyway. But pre-work creams will help reduce irritation while wearing gloves and remove dirt during cleansing.

5. I work in maintenance and use water-resistant cream. It doesn’t seem to help. Why is it so?

Well, proper protection requires using an appropriate product. If you work in oily environment, why do you need protection against water-based contamination? If you are not sure what product you need you can always contact us for detailed information. There are many types of dermatological products made for protection against different contaminants, and we have solutions for every industry and every department.

6. What do I do if I have dermatitis?

We are sincerely sorry to hear that. The first thing you need is to visit doctor. If your disorder seems to be caused by working environment you should also contact your HSE manager. After taking course of medical treatment we highly suggest being more attentive to occupational skin protection to prevent such matter in the future.

Scientists have created a 3D printer that prints new skin over wounds!

Researchers from the University of Toronto in Canada have developed a special device that can “print” a new skin in just a few minutes right on top of a wound on any part of the body.
The new elaboration of scientists prints the layers of "bio-ink" directly on the patient, literally pasting the wound with strips of glue-like substance, from which real new skin will grow later.
The new device, invented by Canadian scientists, is not the first 3D printer for skin, but according to the developers, today it is the most compact and effective tool for treating wounds. So far the printer has been tested only on animals, but there are premises to believe that in the future it can be used to heal people.

Digital Aging: How to Protect Skin from Blue Light?
The rapid spread of electronics, the globalization of the Internet, the popularity of social networks and other online format channels have led to a large-scale problem: digital aging.

But what is it?
The screens of electronic devices emit blue or dark blue light - high-energy light of the visible spectrum in the range from 400 to 500 nm (HEV). This one, unlike ultraviolet, is visible to the human eye.
Under the influence of HEV-rays in skin cells, the recovery of barrier functions of the epidermis is slowed down. The process of oxidation and destruction of cells occurs faster. This is called digital aging.
Of course, the process of digital aging is gradual, so we see a regressive visual effect after a certain period of time.

How to slow down digital aging?
In order to prevent digital aging, it is not necessary to give up the use of mobile devices. It's all about the protection that you need to apply before the contact with screens and monitors. Modern manufacturers of dermatological products offer solutions based on various components.
One of them is Blumilight ™, a patented premium cocoa bean complex based on Criollo Porcelana (Peru). It reduces the negative effects of HEV radiation, increases the amount of collagen-1, improves the elastic fibers and skin elasticity.

In the R & D company Skincare, we have included this complex in the composition of OfficeBloom products, our new line for protecting skin in the office.

And how do you protect your skin from the blue light?

Skin at different ages.

What happens to our skin over time? Two factors affect skin aging: internal (human genetics) and external (impact of the environment, lifestyle, etc.). The interesting fact is that genetically aging of the skin is predetermined only by 20%, the remaining 80% depends on the lifestyle, diet, mental state, ecology, amount of UV radiation, etc. Under the influence of all these factors starts the process of oxidation and destruction of intercellular bonds. The consequences are: wrinkles, pigmentation, dull skin color, uneven texture and loss of elasticity. And this is only a small part of what can happen to the skin.
Each age group has its own characteristics. Let's take a closer look at them.

Are you 20 years old?
At this age active processes take place in the skin. Collagen production is on high level, the sebaceous glands are working actively. The skin is able to compensate independently many negative effects of lack of sleep, poor diet and other unpleasant environmental factors.

Or are you 25-35 years old?
If the skin is properly cared for, at this age it is experiencing its heyday: the problem of acne most likely is solved and the first wrinkles are still invisible. However, the aging process is already running: the level of collagen in the skin cells decreases, imperceptible or visible pigment spots appear, dryness and sensitivity of the skin bothers more often as the production of sebum is greatly reduced. It is very important to actively protect and restore the skin at this stage.

And if you are 35-45 years old?
Wrinkles and pigmentation are already visible on the skin which loses its natural shine and changes its texture. Dehydration is the most negative factor for the skin as the sebaceous glands practically do not secrete sebum. The skin suffers from frequent dryness, its sensitivity increases. Therefore, it is crucial to observe its water balance and to use special means for its protection and care.

45 years and older?
This period is usually caused by natural hormonal changes that strongly affect the body in general. In women, skin aging during this period is called menopausal. A change in the hormonal status leads to a violation of the lipid metabolism of the skin. During this period, the skin loses its elasticity, the facial contours change (sagging), visible pigmentation appears, the skin becomes very dry and dull. Complex care is important.

Aging is an irreversible process but it is in our power to slow it down as much as possible! And today it is possible. Skin aging is caused by a combination of various factors. But understanding how age-related changes affect the structure and function of the skin can help to preserve its health and youth for a long time. And remember, it’s easier to prevent the consequences than to correct them.

Taking care of you, Skincare.
