Dear Republicans:
At The Hair Republic, it has been our pleasure to serve you, our clients, over the last seven (7) years. Some of you have been with either Garnell “G” Pinder or Suzette “Sue” Farrington for so many years beyond that.
We started The Hair Republic on Monday, January 26th, 2015, promptly at 9:00 AM. That was the first official day. From the start, it was a dream come true, a labour of love and an achievement of which we were all very proud.
From that renovated space on Shirley Street to our move on Bay Street, a number of you have been with us as clients, as friends and as family. We are thankful and appreciative to all of you.
On February 22, 2023, The Hair Republic lost Garnell suddenly. Shortly, thereafter Suzette had some medical conditions that impaired her ability to work.
Unfortunately, with all of the surrounding circumstances, a decision was made that it was no longer feasible to carry on The Hair Republic. Therefore, it is with great sorrow that as of March 31, 2023, The Hair Republic was permanently closed.
For my part, I am appreciative of all of you who welcomed me and supported my wife, Garnell, especially.

Your kind words, prayers and overall support have been most welcome and appreciated throughout.

There will be no public viewing for Garnell Patrice “G” Pinder, as per her wishes.
However, those who wish to pay their respects to family may visit Vaughn O. Jones Memorial Center on Mount Royal Avenue from 11:00 AM this morning (Friday, March 17, 2023) and sign the guestbook.
Her husband and family appreciate your understanding.

Hey Republicans,
Please be advised that The Hair Republic will be temporarily closed until further notice due to the unforeseen passing of our Professional Stylist, Garnell Patrice “G” Pinder, and the unavailability of Professional Stylist, Suzette Darville, due to illness.
We will keep you all up-to-date with regard to the salon’s future activity in the upcoming week.
Thank you for your patience and we appreciate all of our clients who have been supporting us during this trying time.

The funeral service for Garnell Patrice “G” (née Hutchinson) Pinder, will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (Shirley Street) on Saturday, March 18 at 11:00 AM.
For those attending, Garnell was widely known and well liked, please be early to ensure your place.
We understand that not all of you may be able to attend, as well. On behalf of her husband, family and us here at THR, thank you for your kind words and support otherwise.

It is with heavy hearts that we relay the passing of Garnell Patrice "G" Pinder on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023.
Garnell was a vibrant and beautiful person, whose goodness and kindness to all she came in contact with cannot be denied.
Garnell loved her clients, enjoyed seeing her vision for The Hair Republic come to life and was a friend and confidante to so many of us.
She will be greatly missed.
If you'd like to offer condolences, cards, flowers or support of any kind to her husband and/or family, you can do so through the salon at any time during normal business hours.

We'll do our best to answer your messages until then.
Hey, Republicans! We‘ve been having a lot of people booking and not showing up for appointments.
This not only robs your fellow patrons of opportunities to come in, but hurts our bottom line. We, too, have bills to pay.
The salon requires appointments be cancelled 24hrs in advance. Going forward, no-shows will be blocked from making future appointments.
