✨ Full-Circle Story: From a School Trip to Purpose

Back in 1996, as a young student at Mary Star of the Sea Primary School in Freeport, Grand Bahama, I went on a school trip to Nassau, New Providence. I was in Ms. Smith’s class, just a child full of curiosity, not knowing how significant that trip would become in my life.

One of our stops that day was Government House.

While there, I met a young Defense Force officer. We took a photo together, just a simple moment frozen in time. At the time, it meant something… but I had no idea it would mean everything years later.

Fast forward 20 years.

Life brought me to Nassau about 10 years ago for work. But deep in my heart, I held onto that photo—and a mission. I wanted to find that officer again.

I showed that picture to many Defense Force officers over the years. No one recognized him.

Still, I didn’t give up.

Then one day, while jogging with members of the Defense Force, I met Force Chief Petty Officer Perez Rolle. During one of our runs, I showed him the photo—and instantly, he recognized him.

I was shocked. Excited. Hopeful.

But even then, it took another three years before I was finally able to reconnect with that same officer.

And today… we took the photo again.

This time, I’m no longer that little girl. I’m now the owner of a soap manufacturing company. And he is no longer that young officer, Chief Petty Officer Shannondor McKenzie stands decorated, with medals and badges earned over years of service.

Thirty years later… God allowed us to meet again.

Same two people. Different seasons. Greater purpose.

This moment reminded me of something powerful:
