Arrived early this morning in Klemtu BC. Here for a week of training staff and community members on how to treat lice, run some community lice clinics, and set up the community with everything they need to be successful managing their needs in community.

I will be away until Nov 15th for a work trip up to Northern BC

I do have the ability to still privide product and combs for pick up while away

I Have been BUSY over here at FVLC,

Here's a reminder to all caregivers not to panic clean after you find lice.
A hot dryer for 20-30 min is all that's needed for fabric items,

If your worried about couches, use a lint roller (or packing tape wrapped on your hand to dab at the furniture)

hairbrushes don't need to be tossed, just pop them in a ziploc over night in the freezer.

Lice is a lot easier to deal with then fleas from pets... but there's a lot of misinformation out there that makes this process very overwhelming

I love my kiddos to bits but everyone, including them is ready for a routine again.

Remember to be doing regular head checks on your kiddos as school starts,
And for kids sith long hair, braids and buns for school and daycare days!

Phone issues finally resolved!

Remember to be checking kiddos regularly for lice, preferably with a good quality lice comb.

The faster it’s dealt with the less time it will take.

Here are some examples from a past treatment of the sizes of live lice, nits and how tiny nits look in a hair strand. It can be overwhelming to try to check for lice when you don’t have the right tools though! 😫 Lice combs come in many varieties, and most are not successful on checking for and removing nits. You need a metal lice comb with grooved tubes to grab those little suckers off! 🥳 We have 2 metal comb options depending on budget and they will make not only a lice treatment far faster and easier, but make doing regular head checks a breeze!
