I met Sam almost 5 years ago through her sister and her mom who were my first ever clients I saw when I started doing nails in Peterborough. I was renting a room, and had 2-4 clients a month all while working another job just to pay the room rental.

Jackie (Sam’s mom) was one of the most amazing women I’ve ever met and she continued to support me through the beginning of my career to every change and redirection. It’s been a couple years since I’ve seen Jackie, and she devastatingly lost her very long cancer battle just before Christmas this year.

Sam showed up to her appointment today with the biggest smile on her face and a gift basket for me, and immediately all I could think of was how Jackie would have done that.

Even though some of our interactions are short, I’m grateful that I get to know so many beautiful women doing what I do.

I’m grateful for the moments that I get to share with people I wouldn’t have met otherwise, and I’m grateful to those who choose me in such a sea of talent.
