Three days. Six rounds of tallow preparation. One handcrafted beginning.
Before our soap ever becomes a finished bar, there is a process that takes time, patience, and care.
We begin with beef suet and carefully render, strain, cool, and solidify the tallow. Then we repeat the process again and again, completing six rounds over approximately three days.
It is a slow process, but one we believe is worth taking the time to do well. Each round helps us prepare exceptionally pure tallow for our handcrafted soap and reflects the care we put into every batch.

The Care Behind Our Hand-Rendered Tallow 🤎

At Luster & Lore, the care begins long before the soap is made.

We start with locally sourced beef suet and hand-render it into tallow ourselves, slowly melting, straining, cooling, and repeating the process through six rounds over approximately three days.

It takes time, patience, and hands-on work to prepare the clean tallow we use in our soaps. Each round is part of the care we put into our craft, right from the very first ingredient.
