Hi everyone, I wanted to take a moment to share a little bit about Toes & Soles FootCare and what I do 🤍

My name is Crystal Dodgson, and I’ve been providing foot care services for just over eight years. I’m truly passionate about what I do and feel grateful every day to help care for my clients.

I specialize in diabetic, geriatric, and children’s foot care, including corn reduction within my diabetic and geriatric care. I also offer free foot care for those 16 and under. I’m very experienced in treating ingrown toenails, as well as nail reconstruction for both fingers and toes. I work closely with each client to create a personalized plan to help get your feet healthy, comfortable, and looking their best. I also treat a wide range of fungal concerns.

I’m certified through the North American School of Podology, and my goal is always to provide safe, knowledgeable, and compassionate care.

If you’re on a senior benefits plan, my services may be eligible for coverage. In some cases, you may also be able to claim services at tax time with the appropriate documentation.

We’re saddened to share that there was a break-in this morning at Toes and Soles Foot Care. Unfortunately, an individual chose to force their way in and steal electronics from The Tech Forge, impacting two hardworking local businesses.

We take pride in showing up every day for our community, so this is incredibly disheartening. Please bear with us as we clean up and get everything back in order. We’re hopeful to be up and running as usual by Monday morning.

I just wanna apologize as I’ve been down with my auto immune again I’m trying my hardest to get back in the shop and I am so sorry to all of you. First of all, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays 🎄

I want to take a moment to thank all of my amazing clients—those who trust me with their feet, refer friends and family, and continue to support me. Many of you have become like family to me, and I truly adore each and every one of you. I absolutely love what I do, and I’m so grateful for the career I’ve built.

Over the next little while, I’m going to be focusing more on foot health, mental health, and sharing helpful tips and tricks. Unfortunately, I’ve been seeing a lot of concerning issues coming through my shop lately, and it’s heartbreaking. I’ve seen severe infections caused by dirty tools, improper techniques, and unqualified individuals calling themselves “professionals.” I’ve had diabetic clients come in after visiting places that aren’t even certified, and the damage can be serious.

Because of this, I feel it’s incredibly important—especially for diabetics, but honestly for everyone—to do your due diligence. Ask questions. Check qualifications. Rely on word of mouth. If someone isn’t willing to show you or explain how they sterilize their tools, run—don’t walk. Never be afraid to ask:
• What certifications do you have?
• How long have you been doing this?
• What aftercare should I be doing?
• How often should I be coming in?

I apologize for the long-winded post, but I’m extremely passionate about what I do, and I’m tired of seeing people get hurt when it could have been prevented. Friendly reminder 💅🦶

When booking services for your nails or feet, please always ask whether the practitioner is properly certified.

In Alberta and Ontario, certification is unfortunately not required to perform fingernails, pedicures, or basic foot care. This means untrained individuals may legally offer these services.

Lately, I’ve seen many clients—both locally and from the city—coming in with severe ingrown toenails caused by improper cutting, as well as fungal infections resulting from dirty tools and contaminated products.

Your feet and nails are not something to gamble with. Always do your research and make sure the person working on you is qualified, trained, and following proper sanitation practices.

If you ever have questions, please don’t hesitate to stop by the shop—I’m always happy to explain and educate.
