Let's try something New: Embracing Change and Growth

In the journey of self-discovery and personal growth, reflection serves as our guiding light. The more reflective you are, the more effective you become in navigating life's twists and turns. It's about pausing, looking inward, and acknowledging the patterns that have shaped us over time.

Living in old patterns can feel like being stuck in a loop, repeating the same mistakes without realizing it. But change is not just possible; it's inevitable. Each moment presents us with an opportunity to break free from those patterns and embrace new possibilities.

It's essential to be open to acknowledging where we may have taken a wrong turn. Whether it's in our relationships, careers, or personal habits, recognizing our missteps is the first step towards growth. Instead of dwelling on past mistakes, let's view them as valuable lessons that propel us forward.

As parents, this journey of self-reflection becomes even more crucial. Our children observe and absorb not just what we say but also how we live. By demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow, we teach them the power of resilience and self-improvement.

So, let's cultivate a mindset of openness and curiosity, always seeking to understand ourselves better and striving to become the best versions of ourselves. Remember, every moment is an opportunity for growth, and every reflection brings us closer to living authentically and wholeheartedly.

Let’s talk about overthinking – that sneaky habit that creeps into our minds, especially when we're trying to unwind. If you're a parent, you might find yourself caught in a whirlwind of thoughts about your kids, their future, and every decision you make for them. But guess what? You're not alone.

Here are a few gentle reminders to help you challenge those overthinking moments:

1. Embrace the Present:
Instead of dwelling on what could go wrong in the future, focus on the beauty of the present moment. Take a deep breath, look around, and appreciate the little things.

2. Practice Mindfulness:
Ground yourself in the here and now by practicing mindfulness techniques. Whether it's meditation, deep breathing, or simply paying attention to your surroundings, mindfulness can help quiet the noise in your mind.

3. Set Boundaries:
As parents, it's natural to want the best for our children, but remember to set boundaries for yourself. Recognize when you're overthinking and gently guide your mind back to the present.

4. Challenge Negative Thoughts:
When those pesky negative thoughts start to spiral, challenge them. Ask yourself if they're based on facts or just fears. Replace them with positive affirmations and realistic perspectives.

5. Seek Support:
Remember, it's okay to ask for help. Whether it's talking to a friend, a partner, or a therapist πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰. sharing your thoughts can provide clarity and comfort.

Overthinking is a journey, and it's okay to stumble along the way. Be kind to yourself, dear parent, and remember that you're doing the best you can. You've got this!

🌸 Happy International Women's Day! 🌸

To all the incredible women out there, I want you to know that you are seen, you are valued, and you are loved. Today, and every day, let's celebrate the strength, resilience, and grace that each of you embodies.

I know that being a woman comes with its own set of challenges. Whether it's navigating the complexities of career ambitions while juggling family responsibilities, overcoming societal expectations and stereotypes, or simply finding the courage to embrace your authentic self in a world that often tries to dictate who you should be – your journey is valid, and your experiences matter.

But amidst the struggles, there is also immense beauty and power. I've seen it in the way you lift each other up, offer a shoulder to lean on, and champion one another's successes. From the single mothers balancing work and raising children, to the trailblazers breaking barriers in male-dominated industries, to the everyday heroes who quietly make a difference in their communities – you inspire me with your resilience and unwavering determination.

Today, I wish you all the strength to keep pushing forward, the love to fill your hearts, and the happiness that you so deeply deserve. Remember to be kind to yourselves, to celebrate your victories – big and small, and to never underestimate the impact of your presence in this world.

Here's to the women who continue to defy expectations, shatter glass ceilings, and pave the way for future generations. May we always stand together in solidarity, uplift one another, and strive for a world where every woman is empowered to thrive.

Why try Box Breathing?

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of life? It's completely normal, and trust me, you're not alone. But amidst the chaos, there's a powerful tool that can bring serenity back into your life: box breathing.

Picture this: You're in the midst of a stressful day, your mind racing a mile a minute. It's like a whirlwind swirling around you, leaving you feeling drained and anxious. That's where box breathing comes in. This simple yet effective technique involves inhaling deeply for a count of four, holding your breath for four, exhaling slowly for four, and then holding again for four. It's like hitting the pause button on life's hectic soundtrack.

But why does it work? Let's dive into the science behind it. When you engage in box breathing, you're activating your body's relaxation response. By taking slow, deep breaths, you stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps counteract the effects of stress and anxiety. It's like flipping a switch from fight or flight to rest and digest mode.

And the best part? You can do it anytime, anywhere. Whether you're stuck in traffic, dealing with a difficult conversation, or simply need a moment of peace, box breathing is always at your fingertips. It's like having a mini sanctuary tucked away in your back pocket.

So next time life throws you a curveball, remember to take a moment and breathe. Close your eyes, feel the air filling your lungs, and embrace the stillness within. You deserve it.

Finding moments of calm when feeling overwhelmed by chaos can make a great difference for our mental and physical well-being. Here are 5 easy ways to relieve stress:

1️⃣ Practice Deep Breathing:
Take a few minutes each day to focus on your breath. Inhale deeply through your nose, feeling your belly rise, then exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing tension with each breath. Example: "I like to do deep breathing exercises before bed to unwind from a long day."

2️⃣ Engage in Physical Activity:
Whether it's a brisk walk, a yoga session, or dancing around your living room, moving your body helps release endorphins and reduce stress. Example: "I find going for a run in the morning sets a positive tone for my day."

3️⃣ Practice Mindfulness or Meditation:
Take a moment to center yourself and be present in the here and now. Notice your surroundings, sensations in your body, and thoughts without judgment. Example: "I start my day with a short meditation to set a calm tone for the day ahead."

4️⃣ Connect with Loved Ones:
Reach out to friends or family members for support or simply to chat. Sharing your feelings with someone you trust can be incredibly cathartic. Example: "Having a virtual coffee date with a friend always lifts my spirits."

5️⃣ Prioritize Self-Care:
Take time for activities that bring you joy and relaxation, whether it's reading a book, taking a hot bath, or indulging in a hobby. Example: "I love winding down in the evenings with a good book and a cup of tea."

Remember, chronic stress can dysregulate our nervous system and have serious health consequences. Taking proactive steps to manage stress is essential for our overall well-being. Let's prioritize self-care and find moments of peace in our busy lives. πŸ’š

How often do you make your own mental health a priority? How often would you say you make the decision to work mental health care into your daily routine?
It's a safe bet to say that most people do not. Especially us Moms who have so much on the go and thousands of open tabs in our brains at any given time. But guess what?! We are the ones who need it the most!

Take it from me~ an overwhelmed mom and therapist for parents, WE NEED TO CREATE TIME TO RECOVER FROM THE DAILY STRESSORS that we don't otherwise get a break from. This will not happen on its own. Mental health care / self care, will not make itself a priority! You need to do it!

Protip: find ways to invite moments of reflection and self care into your day. Set an alarm, habit stack (we will talk more about this in a bit), incorporate your intention and why it's important into your inner dialogue. And if it's something you enjoy doing, it may be easier to keep it going!

Need help sorting this out? Reach out! I'd be happy to assist you in navigating being a better, more calm version of you!

Let's talk about that sneaky little voice in your head - your anxiety. It loves to play tricks on you, doesn't it? But guess what? It's a big ol' liar! πŸ€₯

Anxiety has this way of convincing you that everything is going to go wrong, that you're not good enough, that people are judging you... Sound familiar? But here's the truth: it's all smoke and mirrors!

Picture this: your anxiety is like that helicopter parent who hovers over their kids at the playground, making sure they're not climbing too high and not playing too rough, even though they have proven time and time again that they are able to manage and maneuver these things. They mean well, but sometimes their constant vigilance can stifle they're kid's freedom to just enjoy the swings and slides of life! It means well, but sometimes it's just a little too cautious.

Think about it: how many times has your anxiety predicted doomsday scenarios that never actually happened? Probably more times than you can count! It's like having a weather app that always predicts rain, even when the sun is shining bright. So, next time that anxious voice pipes up, remember: it's full of hot air! Remind it "thanks, but I've got this "

But hey, in all seriousness, if you're struggling to quiet that voice, you're not alone. It's okay to ask for help! Whether it's talking to a friend, seeking therapy, or practicing mindfulness, there are so many tools and resources out there to help you kick anxiety's butt! πŸ’ͺ Reach out for more assistance with this, because you deserve to feel calm, confident, and in control. You've got this! πŸ’–
