Words of Gratitude This Thanksgiving!
This Thanksgiving, I find myself filled with gratitude for my family, my friends, life's opportunities, and the incredible Mind 2 Heart community.
I am especially grateful for the privilege of supporting my clients through their triumphs, challenges, and everything in between. I am thankful for the dedicated colleagues I have the opportunity to work alongside, the connections we continue to build, and the individuals who make up our wonderful community, both in person and online. These connections fill me with joy, purpose, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of human connection.
Thanksgiving is often a time when we intentionally reflect on the things we are grateful for. However, I also want to offer a gentle reminder that gratitude is something we can carry with us throughout the year. So often, we become caught up in our day-to-day responsibilities that it can be challenging to pause and appreciate the moments, both big and small, that bring meaning to our lives.
Gratitude is a mindfulness practice that can support our well-being in many ways, including encouraging present-moment awareness, reducing stress, supporting emotional regulation, and improving our ability to focus on what matters most.
Sometimes, a simple moment of appreciation or a heartfelt word of thanks can help shift our perspective and reconnect us with the people and experiences that bring us joy.
I also recognize that Thanksgiving, like many holidays, can bring a mixture of emotions. Not every moment is easy, and gratitude does not mean overlooking life's challenges. Rather, even during difficult times, moments of thankfulness, compassion, and connection can offer us opportunities to feel grounded and supported.
My wish for all of you this Thanksgiving is to spend time in ways that bring you purpose, joy, creativity, connection, and meaning, whatever that may look like for you.
I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the people, experiences, and little moments that fill your heart, and to carry some of that gratitude with you as you move through your days.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Katie

Homelessness is not simply a housing issue — and it is not simply a mental health issue.
It is often the result of multiple systems failing to meet a person’s needs at the same time.
Safe and stable housing matters.
Accessible mental health care matters.
Addiction treatment matters.
Community support matters.
Income security matters.
Connection matters.
When someone is living without secure housing, it becomes much harder to attend appointments, manage medication, recover from trauma, maintain employment, stay connected to family, or focus on healing.
And when mental health care and support services are difficult to access, housing stability can become even more fragile.
These issues are connected — but they are not the same.
Not every person experiencing homelessness is living with mental illness, and people living with mental illness are not destined to experience homelessness.
What people deserve is access to the right support, at the right time, before crisis becomes catastrophe.
Today and on World Homeless Day, we recognize the importance of housing security, accessible mental health care, and strong community support systems working together.
Because everyone deserves a safe place to live and a real opportunity to heal.

Living with ADHD can bring unique strengths, challenges, and experiences.
The ADHD brain works a little differently making it harder for kids to regulate their attention, movement and actions.
It’s not a choice and doesn’t go away if you "just try harder".
Affirming Therapy! Let's highlight what works and provide individualized tools to those with this gift to compliment their strengths and work for and with their challenges.
What are your experiences with ADHD? What are some things you have perhaps struggled with and or learned?

Single priority in a world that may cause many of us to have a scattered focus.... how many things do you feel are priority for you?
If you have to state one clear, goal or focus for the week ahead what would that be?
