May was a busy month outside of the clinic for me during my search for a new car.
I was quiet as I was weighing out options and seeing what is out there.
Either way I thought I would share a few recent Hallelujah's as a little glimmer for this week
1 I have more core strength now than I did one year ago when I did my first assessment in regards to Hypermobility
2 With more stability being present i can now progress onto dynamic strength training
3 Today I got to participate in a new support group to deepen my understanding of ADHD
4 I get to pick up my new car tomorrow!
Do you have any Hallelujah's you'd like to share? Id live to hear some

Good morning, Rebecca here with another example of how massage therapy can help with gardening aches and pains.
Recently I worked with a patient that took full advantage of the nice weather iver the long weekend and did lots of yard work.
When they came in for their appointment they stated they felt like they were walking like the person pictured in the before picture.
That kind of walk can happen from long back pain or hamstring tightness.
After a 60 minute massage therapy appointment this patient walked out standing much taller, less forward bend, and less pain.
So if you feel you too are walking bent forward let's see how massage therapy can help you too!

This sure was a beautiful Victoria day long weekend.
For the gardeners out there I have no doubt you took full advantage of the nice weather to get out and do some work in your flowers beds or vegetables gardens
Your muscles may need some tending to as I have no doubt there was lots of squatting, bending forward or carrying mulch bags around.
Let's get your a massage therapy appointment to help ease those tired muscles.

As you may have noticed Ive been talking more about Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome on this platform
Behind the scenes I have also been assessing and treating others with Hsd and EDS. These assessments are very individualized and focus on what each patients needs help with most
In doing these assessments I have also been able to share advice based on my lived experience with HSD
A few patients have wondered how I could have hsd as a massage therapist. So I thought I would share
First let's drive into what HSD is its a connective tissue Disorder, meaning my body is using collagen improperly, that improper use of collagen can affect someone in alot of different ways the most visible of which is joint subluxation or dislocation
For me I notice this joint instability most outside of work when doing recreational activities or working out.
The only area I notice the extra range of motion in my joints in my hands which I am now learning how to manage through the hand hypermobility blueprint course.
As a RMT I am able to set my own schedule, pace myself accordingly, use a hydraulic massage table, incorporate assistive tools like the scrapper and much more.
All these things combined have helped me be the massage therapist I am today. Being in this career for as long as I have, ive also learned how to set myself up ergonomically while I am giving a massage to ensure I am not compromising my muscles or joints as Im helping you get relief.
Hypermobility was present long before I was a RMT and my career choice has actually helped me manage my hypermobility in alot of ways.
