Today's topic is about your dried, cracked cuticles.

So many of my clients are asking "WHY IS THIS HAPPENING".

COVID19 isnt helping our situation with keeping our cuticles healthy and moisturized.

Let's discuss the importance of that delicate, clear strip of skin we all hold.
Cuticles are there to protect your nails and skin from any bacteria that can cause infection.

Right now we're constantly washing our hands, using sanitizer, using cleaning supplies. Now that we are stuck indoors, the nail biters are biting and believe it or not this cold weather and indoor dry heat does a number on your cuticles.

There are many products that you can use such as oils, creams, masks.....
Or you can use my small tip of a simple home remedy and within a week you will have healthy nails and cuticles again!!

My secret ingredient is OLIVE OIL.

Olive oil penetrates into the skin and nail, to help repair damage and soften nails and cuticles, which leads to nail strength and health.

All you need:
▪︎ Olive oil in a microwave dish (pour just enough to soak finger tips in)
▪︎Cotton gloves (or what the heck oven mitts can work!!! If Oven mitts is your choice you'll need ziplock bags to place your hands in before sliding them into then oven mitts)
▪︎ Your favourite beverage

So this is what I'd like you to do for your first treatment TONIGHT; just before bed.

Warm olive oil in the microwave, just a couple of seconds, and allow it to cool slightly. Soak your nails in the warm olive oil for 10 minutes. This provides moisturizing to the nails and cuticles using heat to speed up absorption.

Now massage that golden deliciousness into the nails and skin! In small circular motions. Then using a clean cotton cloth or nail buffer, give your nails a little buff. This gives the nail shine and additional protection from all those nasty chemicals we've been using!

Now take your cotton gloves OR your oven mitts; I would like you to put them on for about 15min.
THAT'S IT!

For the rest of the week at least once a day for the next week, just rub and massage a little Olive oil on your nails and cuticle.

VOILA!

Vanity Affair Studio wants you to know that your visit here is important. Steps are taken above and beyond the regular protocol to decrease any chance of spreading COVID-19

For the safety of the Spa Therapist and visitors, we ask that any client that has travelled remain healthy for a minimum of two weeks upon arriving back to Canada before coming to visit us. I have removed last min cancellation fees and all efforts will be made to re book you for a suitable time in the near future.

I assure you that I have not travelled or will be travelling in the near future.
If so I will be asked to abide by suggested legislation to self contain for two wks before serving you.

As of right now, the Studio will remain open and you will be updated on the current standing of the business hours on a daily basis.

In the mean time I remain diligent to clean and sterilize; asking all VAS guests to partake in hand washing as soon as entering the Studio and use hand sanitizer prior to service.

I truly appreciate your understanding that as a guest of Vanity Affair Studio, your experience may look a little different as we navigate through this time together.

It is my intent to remain transparent while maintaining a calm and composed environment to serve you. ♥️
