Hi, I'm Emily Walsh, I'm a registered massage therapist at Luminate Co Wellness Clinic, located in Bedford, NS . I've been an RMT for over 7 years and am available for your chronic pain, prenatal, and self-care needs 💆‍♂️

As we say goodbye to 2021, I'd like to thank my friends and family, colleagues and clients for another busy year, full of growth and changes, success and happiness 🌿

I'm excited to see what 2022 has in store for all of us. I've already planned a few adventures and site seeing, and am gearing up to start a course on lymphatic drainage this month! 🤸‍♀️

Double Mask Monday!

It has been a wild roller coaster of a weekend being shut down, rumours of being opened before finally being informed that we are allowed to continue to provide massage therapy treatments. 💆🏻‍♀️

We do have continued increases in positive cases, frequent press releases and the situation is obviously very fluid. We’re taking each day as it comes and understand with each passing day, more restrictions may be in place 📈

We’re continuing to follow and exceed our stringent cleaning protocols, PPE rules and screening guidelines set in place by our governing association. 😷

Starting today, it will be a double mask Monday continuing until we no longer have community spread in the area, and I’m comfortable to go back to a single mask. I received negative results of a Covid test on the weekend and have already booked my next asymptomatic test. 🦠

Please remember that all of these protocols are in place to protect you, our patients, as well as all of us in the clinic. We need you to do the same for us. Please keep up to date on the current exposure list and cancel if you need to. Wear your mask. Stay home if you’re sick. Get tested. Stay safe 💕

Once again, massage therapy in Halifax is closed. A little bit surprised this time around, as regulated health care can stay open, but unregulated must close.

Unregulated health care such as massage therapy, osteopathy, naturopathy is still such a valuable part of overall care. “Unregulated” only refers to our status to the government, it doesn’t mean that we don’t have high standards of care and ethics, nor does it mean that we’re not already following the strict return to work guidelines that were set out by public health prior to us reopening. We follow very similar (though tailored to our sector) cleaning guidelines, PPE protocols and screening guidelines as regulated healthcare.
It was a surprise to be shut down yesterday as we were allowed to stay open during the second wave in the fall.

Hopefully everyone can do their part to stay safe, get tested (I just got back from mine) and we’ll be able to treat again sooner rather than later. In the meantime, if you need care our chiro and physio are happy to help!
