I was working on my Christmas Baking List and went through my Family Heirloom Recipe book and I found SOO MANY recipes from you guys! Over the years I've collected a lot of recipes from your families, some traditional, some not, but all yummy! I miss the salon a lot and was thinking I should THANK YOU, all of you from ALL the years and ALL the provinces I've worked in. For making my life a little sweeter and easier at the holidays! We all know how busy it can get in the salon right up until Dec 24th .. so recipes like these help.. a lot. Anyway, I miss you all, was thinking of ya as I flipped through and realized again, it's late in the season to be baking but like everyone else, time has flown... lol Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to all of ya! 🎄I wish you happiness and a lot of smiles over the next year!

I'm not back in the game but I feel it's good to let you know that salons will be back to work Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

They are back for apts only and not to 100% capacity so be nice if your apt can't happen for a bit 🥰😘 Frustrating for everyone buuuut on the bright side, YOU CAN GIT YOUR HAIR DID!!

As of today, Athena's Hair Studio is closed. I said goodbye to the last client I'll have at 106 Foster in Berwick....... makes me sad to say that, I have many wonderful clients and friends that have laughed and cried in my chair. I will miss you all. Thank you for the wonderful last memories as I'll look back on them fondly! Time to turn the page and start the next chapter.... I'll keep posting the specials for Coastal Beauty here to keep it easy for you to find....

What a ride it’s been.
2020 was ridiculous for everyone. 2021 has followed suit but I’d like to think holds promise. 🙏
I arrived here 11 years ago with no plan to enter the hair world again, and lookit us now hahaha 11 years of laughter, tears, changes, breakthroughs, breakdowns and build-ups. I came to Berwick “from away”, and have been told I’ll always be “from away” and that it takes 2 generations to be “from Burk”.
Sadly, I will not make the 2 generations, 1 is all I had for you I suppose lol.
Tomorrow will likely mark a new chapter in my life as the house looks poised to sell… for sure… this time…. Maybe lol 😕
I’m told this is the one (with always the small chance of things falling out)
I cannot tell you how sad and yet excited that makes me. Conflicted is not even close... Most of you know my “plan” and I’m hoping that it will go that way. We shall see as the universe has it’s own ideas I’ve never been able to fight against ha!
And so, with a very sad, heavy heart Athena’s Hair Studio must close it’s doors Friday, January 15, 2021. 😲I know…. FRIDAY!!???!!!! Most of you know it might be coming fast and furious. To be honest, I didn’t believe it when they told me it was for real. (now that it’s out there of course it’ll change by tomorrow lol)
Tomorrow, I find out 100% what is happening and I’ve been wracking my brain on how to tell the world the maybe, almost news and I thought I would let you know, instead of SURPRISE WE SOLD TODAY WE CLOSE TOMORROW!!! 😟
Letting you know today is barely better but at least I’ve given warnings over the past months that it'll be like this.
I’m so glad I’ve had the last year with you. You know how much you mean to me and my family.
To those who need in, I am dreadfully sorry but I cannot get anyone in. I have movers coming in a week..... fast and furious...I wasn't kidding.
I can tell you that there are things in the works and when you do need in, message me and I’ll give more info, and/or contacts.
On a happy note, I will remain in Nova Scotia and will be through the Valley quite frequently.
I have loved my Valley styling journey and am honoured to have had you with me and to have served you and to have put smiles on some lovely faces I will remember forever.
