Hey babes, just wanted to hop on here real quick with a little PSA about lash extensions. Please be careful when booking—lash techs use super strong chemical adhesives that can be dangerous to your eyes if not applied properly.
If your lash line feels uncomfortable—like itching, pinching, or irritation—within the first week of getting your lashes done, it’s a sign they may have been applied incorrectly. In that case, it’s best to have them removed as soon as possible to prevent further damage to your natural lashes. Our natural lashes all grow at different rates, so when one extension is attached to multiple natural lashes, it can cause them to be pulled out as they grow. Proper isolation is key to keeping your lashes healthy!
I’ve also seen some pages using photos of work that isn’t even theirs, which is honestly so scary. So how can you tell what’s legit? Ask questions! Don’t be shy to ask for certification or proof of training—you’re totally allowed. Everyone starts somewhere and deserves a chance to grow, but that doesn’t mean ethics go out the window.
And for any lash techs out there, please make sure you’re doing proper isolation! Not doing so can seriously damage your client’s natural lashes. Also, extensions should never be placed directly on the waterline—they should sit about 1–2 mm away from it.
One more thing—always make sure your client’s eyes are fully closed during the appointment. If you’re using tape to lift the lid, just double check that it’s not causing the eye to open. Leaving it open even a little can cause some pretty intense chemical burns.
No shade to anyone, and I’m not trying to offend—just felt like this needed to be said. At the end of the day, it’s about keeping each other safe and doing things the right way 💕✨
