Fall mode is in full swing 🍁

So thankful for the busy back to school rush, as much as it’s a bummer summer is over I love being part of this yearly routine 💕

When you’re sitting in my chair, I strive for longevity. 🤍

I understand that our visits take both time and money, and I want you to get the most out of every appointment.

I don’t want you to leave the salon with beautiful hair only to feel like it looks grown out 4–6 weeks later.

I do my best to create the most seamless grow-out possible, so that even when it’s been 6 months since your appointment, your hair still looks fresh, blended and intentional.

Because beautiful hair should last beyond the day you leave my chair. ✨

Another back to school refresher but still keeping it low maintenance. 🍎

Of course I forgot a before photo (because obviously back to school is crazy) but it had been a year since her last colour, and let me tell you that grow out was flawless 👌.

Today we said goodbye to a place that holds such a special piece of my heart. ❤️

My previous salon is closing after 40 years of serving our community, and I don’t think I realized just how emotional it would be to walk through those doors one last time.

If it wasn’t for this salon, I’m not sure I would have ever found my way back to hair.

After leaving the industry to work at a factory, I received a call from the owner one day. Her first words were, “I hear you’re cutting pineapple… you should be cutting hair.” 😂

I came in, met her and the stylist who would be taking over the business, and somehow everything just clicked.

That little shop taught me the foundation of my career. It taught me to master my craft, but more importantly, it taught me that being a hairstylist is about the people, the relationships and the community you build along the way.

And it’s where I met my husband. ❤️

Trav was a client (as were his dad and sister—I didn’t even know they were related 😂). After I became single, he somehow found his way into my chair a little more often. 👀

I remember looking at him in the mirror one day and thinking, “I’m going to marry that man.”

We hadn’t even been on a date yet. 😂

Sure enough, I was right.

Fast forward, we became inseparable, engaged just over a year later, and built the life we have today.

And now, 10 years later, I got to stand in that same salon and look at my daughter, Avery, in that very same mirror.

Talk about a full-circle moment. 🥹

So much of my life began in those four walls—my career, my confidence, my community, and my love story.

Some places are more than just a building. They become part of who you are.

Forever grateful for this chapter, the people who shaped me, and all the memories that will stay with me forever. 🤍✨

If it wasn’t for this salon, I honestly don’t know if I would have followed through with my career in hair.

Long story short, I had left the industry to work at a factory and never really thought much about returning—until I received a call from the owner. We had mutual friends, and her first words to me were, “I hear you’re cutting pineapple, you should be cutting hair.”

I agreed to come meet her and the other stylist who would be buying the business. We clicked, and off we went.

This little shop, and the women in it, taught me the foundation of my career. They helped me master my craft, but more importantly, they taught me that this job is about the people. I learned about community there and that this “job” can honestly be one of the best careers in the world.

Even though I was only there for about three and a half years, I went through some of the most transitional phases of my life within those walls.

This is also where I met my husband. He was a client—so were his dad and sister (and I had no idea they were all related 😂). I had recently become single, and sure enough, Trav started finding his way into my chair a little more often. 👀

I had so many conflicts within myself about dating a client, or even pursuing him at all. But I remember one day looking at him in the mirror and thinking to myself, “I’m going to marry that man.”

We hadn’t even gone on a date yet, by the way.

Sure enough, I gave it a chance, and fast forward—we became inseparable and were engaged just a little more than a year later.

Today, I got to look at Miss Avery in that very same mirror and have one of those true full-circle moments. Thinking about how much my life has changed in the past 13 years, and how somehow, everything just clicked together exactly the way it was meant to.

Some places are so much more than just a building. They hold pieces of your story, your growth, your memories, and sometimes even the beginning of the life you never knew was waiting for you.

Forever grateful for this little chapter and the people who were part of it. ✨

When you’re client lives far enough north they have to fly home, keeping it simple for a soft grow out is what you need!

When you don’t know when you’ll be home again last thing you want to see is a stark grow out. A soft sun-kissed balayage is the way to go ☀️
