How can you show your lungs some love? ๐ซ
Our lungs work around the clock to filter the air we breathe and help us eliminate unwanted compounds with each exhale. In todayโs world, weโre exposed to an overload of environmental toxins from sources like air pollution which add an extra burden on our detoxification pathways.
Show your lungs some love with support from โs Healthy Lungsโข. This is an advanced, multi-oxidant formula that gets straight to work helping prevent and repair cellular damage caused by exposure to smoke, allergens, environmental pollution, or even overexercise. It contains antioxidants like NAC, quercetin, grape seed extract, and zinc to help fight free radicals and maintain healthy hardworking lungs. ๐

The post blew up when I said to skip the SPINACH. I get it; youโve been told otherwise and been eating it (some of you a LOT) - and breaking nutritional beliefs and habits can be hard.
But, hear me out (and donโt shoot the messenger).
Problem: Itโs extremely high in OXALATES
I think health issues caused by oxalates are going to be the next โbig thingโ in functional nutrition because of how many people have a problem with them without realizing it. Especially if youโre experiencing pesky health issues (see below).
Oxalates have seen mistakenly and exclusively connected to kidney stones. However, weโre now finding that they can also be the cause of chronic muscular, joint and bone pain, carpal tunnel, burning urine or bowel movements, vulvodynia (external female ge***al pain or irritation), recurring UTIs, depression, chronic fatigue, chronic candida, leaky gut or all sorts of other gut problems, hives and trouble chelating of toxic metals like mercury. Hypothyroidism can also be caused by the oxalate crystals depositing themselves in the thyroid gland.
There are other high-oxalates foods such as berries, nuts, seed, beans, chocolate, many grains and many other great foods are high in oxalates.
Does cooking reduce the oxalate content? Raw spinach contains 115mg/serving while cooked 90mg/serving - so less but not by much.
Iโve personally had a problem with oxalates for the past 8 years when I took an antibiotic that wiped out a set of bacteria that degrade/metabolize oxalates. Iโve been in chronic pain and put on weight in spite of a good diet. I took another antibiotic in August 2022 and itโs gotten even worse. Just be being on a low-oxalate diet for the past 5 months, Iโve released 12 pounds and have more energy than in the past decade.
BOTTOM LINE & SOLUTION: If youโre struggling with chronic health issues, try removing spinach (and other extremely high oxalate foods) for 2-4 weeks to see if it helps you. Replace spinach with greens such as arugula, mustard greens that actually support liver health and your hormones.
OXALATE & LIVER CONNECTION: Anything that inflames you, corrodes your gut (oxalates have this effect on the digestive mucosa) - will tax the liver as well.
Sally Norton is a good go-to resource on oxalates.
Nutrition can be as much of a healing road as it can be tricky so donโt be discouraged. Remember that one personโs food can be anotherโs poison; pick what is YOUR nourishment.
I hope this long post and explanation helps!

As women, weโre constantly seeking balance. Balancing our families and careers, time and energy, work and fun can be a struggle. But balancing that delicate microbiome in our guts doesnโt have to be a challenge, thanks to probiotics.
Probiotics are โlive microorganisms that, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host.โ There are many myths about probiotics, but the health benefits arenโt one of them.
If youโre curious why you should consider taking a daily probiotic and how it can benefit you, read the blog and consider the six reasons we share with you: https://bit.ly/3pajDaC

Many of us have learned to โtrust our gut.โ But if we ask most people what our digestive tract is for, theyโll probably explain it as a way of absorbing nutrients and disposing of waste. So where do phrases such as โtrusting our gutโ or โunable to stomach the resultsโ come from? It turns out there is a two-way street between our digestive organs and our brains. What we eat and the state of our digestive tract can have a profound impact on our moods and behaviors. And probably unsurprisingly at this point, our gut microbiome is also involved.
