Even though I took a couple of spills, I got back my trail confidence today on a beautifully runnable path at Westminster Ponds this morning with Haudenosaunee indigenous(Amanda) . Good thing I took a puck to the hand in hockey the other night as I now no longer notice the blister pain from last weekend’s race on the Bruce.. lol 😝

Who is doing Happy Trails Racing Sunburn Solstice this weekend? I wonder how many kms I can squeak in over the 15ish hours from sunup to sundown… 🤔 😄 I do know I will be in great company!

But she was just hours away from

- losing a really expensive GPS on the trail 😱
- losing a pinky toenail 🦶
- falling to her knees ugly crying multiple times 😭
- tripping on several tree roots 🌲
- seeing her first trail snake 🐍
- running out of hydration for hours 🥵
- questioning all of her life choices 😵‍💫

In other words…

She can’t wait to do it all over again this weekend! 😍

Race: Crawford Lake GRIT course

I absolutely LOVE 🥰🌳🏃🏽‍♀️

I’m pretty sure this was my tenth year doing the half and it is my all-time favourite half marathon course and event. Beautiful, flat, scenic, friendly crowds, fantastic volunteers … this is a massive multi-distance event put on by Race Director Shauna and team and the vibe is always impeccable. Lots of smiling faces every year and this year was no exception. I love how the city of London fully embraces this race and the incredible organization each year has made it the success it is! 🙌🏽

Congrats to my oldest daughter .leighann who crushed a 5K PR this morning! Proud mama… ❤️

We’ll be back to the party next year FCRR! 😍
