🖤 We’re Open for Tanning Tomorrow! ☀️

Thank you to everyone who stopped by today and for your patience while we worked through an unexpected issue with our barn door hardware.

The doors are now installed, and we’re excited to announce that JAVA Tanning • MedSpa • Wellness Centre will be open for tanning tomorrow from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM!

We’re still putting the finishing touches on our beautiful new space, but we aren’t letting that stop us from welcoming our amazing clients back.

Come check out the new location, say hello, and enjoy your tanning session. We can’t wait to see everyone!

☕✨ JAVA Tanning • MedSpa • Wellness Centre — We’re Almost Ready! ✨☕

It’s official — our soft opening is Tuesday, August 4 from 10:00 AM–8:00 PM!

What a journey this has been! We are in the final stretch, and there is a LOT happening at JAVA as we get ready to finally welcome everyone into our new home.

Our floor lighting arrived today, and the electricians are busy getting all of the light switches, receptacles and remaining electrical work up and running. Jayden still has to rip the tracks into the baseboards so the electricians can install our new floor lighting.

Because of the timing, we will be opening Tuesday without all of the trim pieces installed — but the important part is that our rooms will be completed, functional and ready for clients.

Our HVAC is complete, all fire and emergency lighting is in place, and we’re getting the remaining electrical and internet work wrapped up.

And then there’s the window frosting… 😅☀️
The extreme heat and direct sun hitting our front windows have caused some of the newly installed frosting to bubble. We’re working on getting it sorted out, but if anyone has experience with window film on windows that receive intense direct sunlight, I’m definitely open to suggestions!

There will still be some trim, lighting, decor and other finishing touches happening after we open, so rather than delay everything until every last detail is perfect, August 4 will mark the beginning of our soft opening.

The rooms will be ready. The services will be ready. And we’ll be ready to welcome you. 🤎

We’re also very excited to welcome Katelyn Walsh of Obsidian Aesthetics, who will be operating from our Vanilla-Hazelnut Treatment Room.

Katelyn is an Advanced MedSpa Clinician and Medical Aesthetician who will be bringing professional medical aesthetic and skincare services to JAVA, including:

🤎 New at JAVA — Permanent Makeup Brows

The new JAVA isn’t just a new location — we’re expanding our services too!

I’m excited to now be offering Permanent Makeup Brows at JAVA, including:

• Microblading — fine, hair-like strokes for a natural-looking brow
• Powder Brows — soft shading for a defined, polished powder finish
• Ombré Brows — a softer front that gradually builds into greater definition
• Combination Brows — hair-like strokes combined with shading for added fullness and dimension

Each appointment includes a consultation so we can discuss your desired shape, colour and overall look before beginning.

Online booking for JAVA’s PMU Brow services is already added to our new website.

💻 New Website & Online Booking

While all of this construction has been happening, I’ve also been hard at work behind the scenes on the new JAVA website and online booking system.

Shyann’s services are already available to book online, and additional appointment-based JAVA services are being added as we get everything ready — including our new Permanent Makeup Brows.

Tanning will not be available for online booking. Since we accept walk-ins for tanning, online booking would be a logistical nightmare.

🧘 Welcome to The Roastery Movement Studio. One of the newest additions to JAVA is The Roastery Movement Studio, created with a different kind of class experience in mind.

Classes will be intentionally kept small — a maximum of 6 participants plus the instructor.

For anyone who has wanted to try yoga, Pilates, meditation or another wellness class but has felt uncomfortable or intimidated joining a large group, The Roastery offers a more personal and welcoming place to begin.

With only six participants, there is more opportunity for individual attention, guidance and connection, whether you’re completely new to a class or simply prefer a smaller, more relaxed environment.

The Roastery Movement Studio — Instructors Wanted!

We are currently looking for qualified instructors who share that vision and would love to bring their classes to The Roastery.

We’d love to offer experiences such as:

• Yoga
• Pilates
• Tai Chi
• Meditation
• Breathwork
• Sound Therapy & Sound Baths
• Prenatal & Lamaze Classes
• Gentle Movement & Stretching
• Wellness Workshops

The Roastery is designed for small, intimate classes, creating a more personal experience for instructors and participants.

☀️ Tanning Equipment Update

Our technicians are at JAVA this afternoon working on both tanning units that needed attention after the move.

Our Cappuccino classic lay-down had some lamp damage during the move, and the technicians are installing the new lamps today to get it ready for reopening.

They’re also working on our Cioccolata luxury lay-down this afternoon. We ran into some unexpected technical issues getting it up and running after the move, but we’re hopeful they’ll be able to identify and resolve the problem today. 🤞

I’ll keep everyone updated as soon as I know more. We’re doing everything we can to have our tanning equipment ready for Tuesday.

This new JAVA has been a huge undertaking. There may still be a few finishing touches happening when you first walk through our doors, but we decided we would rather start welcoming our clients back while those final details are completed than keep everyone waiting any longer.

JAVA Tanning • MedSpa • Wellness Centre — Opening Update ☕✨

It’s official — JAVA will reopen Tuesday, August 4 from 10:00 AM–8:00 PM!

We are getting SO close, and every day another piece of our new wellness centre falls into place.

The walls are up, and we’re now down to the finishing details — doors, trim and final painting.

✅ HVAC is complete
✅ Fire and emergency lighting is in place
✅ Window frosting is installed
✅ Electrical is almost complete, with our baseboard lighting and wall sconces being finished after final paint
✅ Internet is being installed Thursday

And while all of this has been happening, I’ve also been working hard behind the scenes on our new JAVA website and online booking system!

Our goal is to make booking your appointments easier than ever. Online booking for our services is being set up now, although tanning will not be available for online booking at this time. There is still lots being added to the website, and I’m excited for you to see everything come together!

Of course, a move this big hasn’t come without a few unexpected challenges.

During the move, our Cappuccino lay-down tanning bed suffered some lamp damage. Replacement lamps are being picked up tomorrow so we can get Cappuccino ready to go.

Our Cioccolata luxury lay-down is unfortunately giving us a much bigger challenge. Technicians worked on it today but were unable to get it up and running. At the moment, we still don’t know exactly what the issue is or how quickly it can be repaired. We are working on it and will keep everyone updated as we know more.

It has been a HUGE undertaking, and there are still plenty of finishing touches happening this week, but seeing the vision finally become a reality has made it all worth it. 🤎
