Massage School was Anatomy, Physiology and Techniques

What it didnt teach me were the lessons that would shape my career to last 20+ years.

*Laundry, it doesnt sound like much but it piles up and its truly the last thing you want to deal with after a long day.

*Marketing is so daunting, it doesnt come naturally, its the biggest struggle in my career. Adding all the other hats - book keeping, IT, the admin side of the business can be rough and very time consuming.

*Sayin No is a skill and boundries are incredibly important.

*I wont be the RMT for every client and thats okay!

*The biggest learning moments are long after graduation.

Im so grateful for what mssage therapy taught/gave me, i’m even more grateful for everything since.

I wouldnt change a single thing, I love being a RMT more now than i did 10 years ago.

The “desk worker knot” is real, but it might not be what you think. 🖥️

That burning spot by your shoulder blade is usually your rhomboid muscle. It’s overstretched, exhausted, and desperately needs some targeted hands-on therapy.

Stop ignoring it and letting it ruin your posture. Hit the link in my bio to book your next massage therapy session! 💆‍♂️✨

Life away from the treatment room🥰

1. Bike ride to Summit Station dairy farm for a coffee and treat, one of my favourite trails in brantford, bit of a distance there and back
2. Pilates 💪🏼 almost to 500 classes
3. Did a fun photo shoot with Crystal at ohsobeauty
4. Coffee 😍
5. Ollie has claimed the strawberry box from Brantwood farms… doesn’t look like I’ll be getting my deposit back 😝
6. A little vet trip for nugget, he’s all good though ❤️

Suffering from chronic headaches or migraines? 💆‍♂️ It’s time to flip your perspective—literally.

Most people get neck work done lying face up, but getting treated in the prone position (lying face down) can be a total game-changer for your pain. Many tension headaches start at the base of the skull, and moving to this position shifts the entire dynamic of your massage.

Here is exactly how prone neck work unlocks deep-seated relief:

*️⃣Unlocks the Suboccipitals: Gives your therapist perfect access to the deep, tight muscle bands responsible for radiating head pain.

*️⃣ Complete Relaxation: Gravity helps your neck completely let go of tension, allowing for a safer, deeper release.

*️⃣ Decompresses the Spine: Gentle manual traction in this position creates space between your vertebrae.

*️⃣ Pressure Control: Allows for steady, targeted pressure to melt away stubborn trigger points without straining your throat or jaw.

*️⃣ Calms the Nervous System: Deep, focused work helps down-regulate an overactive nervous system to stop a migraine in its tracks.

Have you ever had your neck worked on face down? Drop a 🙋‍♂️ in the comments if you need this on my table!
