Starting a lash business now is very different than when I started.
Because there were so few of us, no one really knew what quality work was. 😂
And it was pretty easy to build a clientele. When you’re one of two or three girls doing lashes, there are plenty of clients to go around.
Now? It’s a little different. The industry is a little more saturated. Is it a bad business to get into? No, but…
You might have to work a little harder. You might have to do some sets for free. And there is nothing wrong with that.
In fact. I encourage it.
I’ve given you the exact blueprint I would follow if I needed to start my business again. The beautiful thing about it is you can build as quickly as you want.
But I will say, post close attention to Step 5. Don’t put all of your eggs into one basket. There is a good chance you won’t do this for the rest of your life, and you’ll be grateful you built something that can grow whether you’ve got a set of tweezers in your hand or not.
Drop a ❤️ of this is helpful to you!
are my go-to lash!
I’ve used these lashes consistently for several years and I LOVE them!
Consistent curl, easiest fanning imaginable and soft and so pretty.
I would recommend these extensions to anyone. When I train girls I ALWAYS stock their kits with these lashes. When there are already a bunch of things that can make you feel crazy when lashing, your extensions don’t need to.
Last perk! Canadian brand! These girls and their lashes are in Saskatchewan. So, add RishBish to your list of Canadian companies to support.
Trust me…you will not be disappointed.
There are absolutely things I say on the regular to my clients, that if someone overheard and didn’t know what was going on, would wonder.
Can you add anything to the list?

I used to think success meant squeezing every possible appointment into my schedule.
Now?
I think margin might actually be one of the smartest business strategies.
Especially in the beauty industry.
Because after enough years behind the chair, you realize:
life always happens.
Clients reschedule.
Kids get sick.
You need breathing room.
And sometimes… you need time to work ON your business instead of only IN it.
That extra appointment slot could become:
* content creation
* marketing
* admin
* learning a new skill
* or building another stream of income
I think a lot of beauty professionals are starting to rethink what success actually looks like.
Maybe “fully booked” isn’t the only goal anymore.
What are your thoughts?
I asked for one nice photo…
What I got was wrestling, laughing, and complete chaos. 😂
Being a boy mom is loud, wild, exhausting, hilarious…
and somehow the sweetest thing too.
Sheesh I miss this duo. 😢
