Whether you’re due for a refresh or trying something new, here’s a quick checklist before your next cut. 💇🏽‍♀️✨

Ask your hairstylist these 3 questions
Are you experienced with my hair type + texture? (Straight, wavy, curly, coily—plus how your strands behave when cut.)
Is this a precision haircut? Ask what that means for your shape, density, and growth pattern—especially around layers and face framing.
Are you comfortable creating the exact style I’m asking for? Bring photos, but also be sure your stylist can explain how they’ll tailor it to your hair.
Good to know
Sometimes the answer is “not quite yet,” and that’s okay—an honest stylist will help you get the best result. If they aren’t the best fit, you should feel comfortable asking for:

a different stylist in the same salon
a specialist outside the salon who’s truly experienced with your texture and the style you want
The goal
You deserve a cut that fits your hair—not just a cut that looks good in the mirror for five minutes.

That’s why I love walking my clients through each step of their appointment. From the moment you sit in my chair, I want you to feel informed, relaxed, and never left wondering what’s next. Repeating the steps as we go can be especially reassuring, because it gives your mind something steady to hold onto.
