I just returned from a little summer vacation and it had me thinking about what products I could not have gone without, especially when it’s hot! My top 3:

🧡SPF (obviously!) Prisma Protect SPF 30 is a light-activated moisturizer that provides broad spectrum defense and prevents future signs of skin damage. Boosts skin’s natural luminosity making it glow while on your vacay ☀️

🩶Daily Microfoliant. By now you may know that this is one of our absolute favourite products… EVER. This rice-based powder activates when mixed with water releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes to polish skin to perfection. After a day outside working up a sweat on top of my SOF and my make up, it felt amazing to exfoliate the skin and rid it of any build up so it’s fresh for the next day.

💜Ultracalming Mist. Trust me when I say this is a game changer on vacation. This toner was made with Oat, botanicals and aloe to help soothe, strengthen skin and support natural moisture balance. Keep it in the hotel fridge for a cooling mist when you come back to the room. I also highly recommend pouring some into a small travel size spray bottle that you can bring on the plane because that airplane air is brutal on the skin!!!!!

✨ using harsh exfoliants too often can sensitize the skin. Using a gentle daily exfoliant, like Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant, is a great choice to stay on top of exfoliation without harming the skin.
✨SPF is so important to protect the skin from harmful UV, prevent skin cancer and future damage. Dermalogica has many to choose from, book with one of our skin therapists to determine which one is right for you.
✨ Retinol is an awesome addition to your skin care routine! But it needs to be slowly introduced to prevent irritation. Start small, add a buffer moisturizer with it and only apply 2-3 nights a week to start.
✨ Your skin changes over time and you need to update your routine periodically. Visit with your skin therapist so they can see what changes need to be made.
✨ There is great information online, but there’s also harmful information. Some “influencers” aren’t even using the products they talk about, or they are using something that is great for their 20 year old skin but isn’t great for all ages. Celebrities who push their skin care lines also have access to surgeons, dermatologists, injectors and often aren’t even using their own products. Be aware and make sure you get advice from professionals who have taken the time to get to know your skin!
