Save The Heights! If this goes through all the small businesses in the Heights will shut down! The only parking for businesses are on Hastings St. It’s surrounded by residential homes with small backstreets and if anyone knows the area, they can attest, parking is always full as is! Boundary is an alternative route which would preserve the small family owned businesses that have been in the Heights for almost 50 years! The Heights is a beloved neighborhood where you can get quality butchers, fresh bread, daily caught fish, perfect espresso, creamy ice cream, thrift stores, bookstores, and pharmacies, all within 5 blocks! This area is a gem and it would be a tremendous loss to lose it because of a bus route. If there’s no parking, there’s no businesses.

📣 Burnaby Heights Community Needs You! 🚫🚌 TransLink is proposing a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane through Hastings/Willingdon that would REMOVE curbside parking, HURT local businesses, and THREATEN pedestrian safety—especially for our kids and seniors! This will create mega shelters that will attract unsafe activity, informal encampments - further straining community safety - and they will block visibility of our beautiful - Burnaby Heights - beloved small businesses and services. 📣We say: NO to BRT Option 1 - Hastings/Willingdon. YES to Option 2 – Boundary/Lougheed. 💥 Our community is thriving, walkable, and full of life. Let’s keep it that way! 💥 This isn’t about rejecting BRT altogether—it’s about choosing a route that makes sense.
