A little life update... 🤍

Lately I've been reflecting on how far Root & Rest Body Care has come, and honestly... I'm overwhelmed with gratitude.

When I first started this journey, I had no idea where it would lead. I simply wanted to create products that truly helped people, especially those with sensitive skin. Every kind message, review, repeat customer, and recommendation reminds me why I took the leap.

I'm a mom of four amazing boys, and while I occasionally have a few friends that lend a hand, Root & Rest is, for the most part, a one-woman business. I left my job to pursue this dream full-time, and markets have become how I support my family.

I work from home, which means I'm constantly balancing being a mom and being a business owner at the exact same time. Some days start at 6:00 a.m. and don't end until midnight.

Every formula is researched, tested, and perfected by me. Every batch is handcrafted by me. Every label is designed by me. Every product photo, every social media post, every message, every email, every market application, every order, every inventory count, and every late-night production session... that's all me too.

Like everyone else, life doesn't stop just because you own a business. Recently, both my vehicle and my husband's vehicle decided to give us problems at the same time. It wasn't exactly the timing we were hoping for, and there were moments where we weren't sure how we were going to make everything work while continuing to run the business and care for our family.

During all of this, we were shown an incredible amount of kindness by some truly wonderful people who stepped in to help us when we needed it most. Their generosity allowed us to keep moving forward, and I honestly don't know how to thank them enough. Acts of kindness like that remind me just how amazing people can be.

I'm not sharing this for sympathy. I'm sharing it because sometimes it's easy to forget there's a real person behind a small business. Behind every order is someone juggling family, unexpected life challenges, and a dream they're working incredibly hard to build. Even on the hard days, I wake up determined to keep moving forward because I truly love what I do.

On a happier note... I'm SO excited to finally start sharing some brand-new products with you! 🎉 These have been months in the making, with countless hours spent researching, formulating, testing, tweaking, and making sure they're exactly what I envisioned before ever putting my name on them. I honestly can't wait to introduce them!

Now... if I could just finish designing all the labels... 😂 Those reveals will be coming very soon!

I've also officially purchased my website domain, so a Root & Rest website is finally on the horizon!

To every customer who has supported Root & Rest—whether you've shopped with me, stopped by a market, shared a post, left a review, or recommended me to someone else—thank you. You're not just supporting a small business. You're supporting my family, my dream, and every early morning and late night that goes into making Root & Rest what it is.

Well... life had other plans! 💚

Unfortunately, due to some unexpected car issues, I won't be able to make it to the Edgerton Market on Saturday, July 4. I'm so sorry to everyone who was planning to stop by.

The good news is that I'll still be at the Ol' MacDonald's Resort Market on Saturday, July 4! Since we've been camping here, it makes the most sense to stay put while I get the vehicle sorted out.

A huge thank you to the amazing team at Ol' MacDonald's Resort for being so accommodating and helping make this last-minute change possible. Your kindness and support mean so much to me and my little business! 💚

Well, that's a wrap on my very first Stavely Market! 🤠🌿

I've been lucky enough to attend the Stavely Rodeo a few times over the years, but this was my first time as a vendor at the market, and what an amazing experience it was.

A huge thank you to the organizers, the community of Stavely, and everyone who stopped by my booth this weekend. The rodeo was incredible (like always!), the market was packed with talented vendors, and the people were some of the kindest and most welcoming I've met.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to chat, ask questions, share stories, and support my small business. Every purchase, kind word, and smiling face made this weekend so special.
